hello - i'm in skipton this week. does anyone know of anything happening or good places to visit locally? i know about the quiz at the cock and bottle on wednesday but apart from that have no plans

Skipton Folk Unplugged. Tuesday, 8.30pm at the Narrow Boat, Victoria St, which is close to the canal. Tomorrow is a singers' night. There is a website, which also gives links to other things in the area on other nights.

Unfortunately, John Kelly (above) gave the wrong day. Skipton Folk Club changed to Mondays some time ago, as Tuesdays were jazz nights.

Tonight (18th July) is a singers' night, and next Monday (25th July) we have the excellent harmony group INPO (In No Particular Order) - Alan Rose, Mike Hockenhull and John Clough)
