As it happens Muldoon's Picnic are doing a charity concert in Horwich, near Bolton, this Saturday (17/9/16). Spread the word!

Yes to all above I think.
Thanks for Muldoon's Picnic, I'd not heard of them.

The Wilson's would top it in my opinion.

I would recommend "Hex", "She Shanties", Ruth & Sadie Price.
Lady Maisery are great, but not really an a-capella group (they play a bunch of instruments:harp, accordion, fiddle, bansitar). The same for the Young'uns.

If you mean groups with fine harmony singing, there are many more....

'Coope, Boyes and Simpson' are the ultimate UK A'capella singers in my book. Ever since we saw them doing a sound check with 'Rufford Park Poachers' at The Albert Hole, Bristol in 2002, or thereabouts, I've been a convert!

As soon as I read the title of this thread, Sound Tradition came into my head. And although Mysha has beaten me to it, I heartily support their nomination.
I suppose if Fisherman's Friends are included, that opens the door to all shanty crews. Three Sheets to the Wind and The Longest Johns are two of my favourites. If a duo qualifies, then Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner are also wonderful.

Hi,

If you're quick, you might be able to catch Sound Tradition at White Horse today. (And there's another chance on Sunday.)

Is there a minimum number of members to qualify as a group?

Bye,

I'm sure there are plenty of choirs that would fit your criteria, a capella meaning ' in the style of the church or chapel ' or did you mean unaccompanied groups ?

Hi All

So - who are good acapella groups at the moment who gig around the UK? The Young Uns, Lady Maisery, The Teacups and Fishermans Friends are all on the list.

Anyone else? Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

M
