Subject: These marble walls - Song Lyrics needed From: GUEST,Heathermabel Date: 29 Aug 16 - 01:25 PM Can anyone help me to find a song I heard in Fishguard Folk Festival this year? In the sing around in Fishguard Old Town pub a couple sang beautifully. The song has the line, ' these marble walls in which I dwell are to me a prison cell.' It also had the line, 'there is a mill a flour mill.' The story was about a high born man not being able to get with his millers daughter, the mother of his child, because he has to manage his estate and get a legal heir. All very Poldark but it has haunted me ever since and have searched to no avail. It is not the song from The Bohemian Girl operetta. That is marble halls, also lovely.(see Laurel and Hardy on YouTube) Thank you, grateful for any help. |
