I've looked online for a copy of Frank Harte and Donal Lunny's CD 1798 The First Year Of Liberty. I can only find an exorbitant copy on Amazon ( I want the CD itself not MP3/4s). And other online sellers list the CD, but there are no links for purchase.

Thanks

The Goilin Club used to have many of Frank's CDs on display for sale including The First Year of Liberty.
If you PM 'Liberty Boy' or 'Fergie' on this forum, I have no doubt they'll be happy to let you know if this is still the case.

1798 album...??? - recording technology would have been well in it's infancy way back then...!!!???

were the microphones rolled up cones of stiff paper;
the mixer desk coal fired or steam powered..???

..was the audio etched by sewing needle onto wooden platters...

Ok, let's google..

Wiki - The early UK recording industry, a little known aspect of the Industrial Revolution... 🤔
