Subject: Naburn Locks Open Day (UK) From: Uncle Tone Date: 06 Sep 16 - 10:01 PM If any Mudcatists are in the York area, the Canal and River Trust are holding an Open Day at Naburn Locks on Sunday 11th September. We are providing some entertainment in the form of an outdoor (if dry, indoor if not) folk singaround and music session from about midday until 4pm. All are welcome. Naburn locks is as far as the tide gets up the River Ouse. It is a very interesting site. Old workshops and the forge have been reopened as a museum. The C&RT plan to use the area as an educational base. Problem is it floods every winter, up to a depth of about 6ft! So, well worth a visit if you are into canals and boats as well as folk music.
