Here's a request I got by email:

What I'm looking for is the song "Pass That Jug". I remember the chorus:

Pass that jug,
Pass it round and round,
We're gonna rock and roll tonight
Soon as the sun goes down.

A google search eventually found a listing in a Stanford U. Library catalog,
under CURRENT REGISTRATIONS MUSIC:

PASS THAT JUG; w & m Chas. O. Smith
1p, [Copyright] Olistar Music Co.; 7May73; EU404841

but it's not clear on my screen, and "Olistar" might be wrong.

Cheers,
Moe

"Olistar" Music Company is correct. It was the BMI publisher attached to Olis Sound Company (Olis Records,) a tiny Chicago area independent. Don't know it that's the "O" in Chas. O. Smith but it doesn't sound like their stuff.

It's exactly a unique lyric but that said, does sound close (sort of) to a modern Alabama song called Down on the River:

"Light up a smoke and tell a few jokes
And pass the old jug around
We're gonna get right on a Saturday night
When the sun goes down"
