Subject: RE: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: GUEST Date: 14 Sep 16 - 12:53 AM Oooooooo can't wait. Many, many happy days and nights spent in the Dolphin. And, I had my first date with my husband there in 1984 - very romantic in an odd kind of way. We're looking at the chances of moving back so you might have two new regulars at your sessions if things work out. Alice |
Subject: RE: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: Sugwash Date: 13 Sep 16 - 03:19 AM Fear not Alice, King Billy still reigns in the Dolphin. It is much the same as it's always been but with a larger choice of ales, Bass included. |
Subject: RE: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: GUEST Date: 13 Sep 16 - 01:14 AM Thanks, Sugwash. We haven't been to Plymouth since 1989 so we're expecting a lot of changes. I hope the Dolphin has resisted the "Slug & Lettuce" treatment. My husband goes misty-eyed when he speaks of 'Billy's Bass'; the stuff of legend. He says it was like drinking pints of wine. Alice |
Subject: RE: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: Sugwash Date: 12 Sep 16 - 11:15 AM There will be a 'Come all Ye' session in the Dolphin on the 10th of October (second Monday), 19.30 start; mixed song and tunes. The Artillery is a fortnightly sing-around and, alas, will be the week before you arrive and the week after you've left. |
Subject: RE: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: GUEST Date: 12 Sep 16 - 01:58 AM Excellent, Marje! Thank you. All the best, Alice |
Subject: RE: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: Marje Date: 11 Sep 16 - 12:03 PM http://www.flaxey-green.co.uk/Pages/Sessions.html See this web site, which includes some Plymouth sessions. I haven't been fo these myself, it's just a bit out of my orbit, but the Dolphin and the Artillery sessions are well spoken of. Marje |
Subject: Plymouth (UK) Sessions/Singarounds From: GUEST Date: 11 Sep 16 - 07:19 AM We'll be visiting Plymouth (in the UK), without a car, from 10-15 October 2016. Does anyone know of any Sessions or Singarounds within easy walking distance of the city centre happening then? Regards, Alice |
