The more I hear the opening bars to of 'Lawrence of Arabia' (1962) by Maurice Jarre, the more I hear the opening bars of 'Sleep Walk' (1959) by Santo and Johhny. More than coincidence?

Coincidence is my guess. There are only 13 notes in the scale. Many's the time I've heard a UK TV theme tune and thought "Sounds a bit like...".

"To The Manor Born" bears similarities to "Yes Minister".

"Murder She Wrote" has some similarities to "All Creatures Great And Small" and perhaps "Pride And Prejudice".

There's very little new under the sun! :-)

And that very little Lennon & McCartney managed to find.

Listen to the opening of Bruckner's Sixth Symphony.

Great music, who's ripped it?

I think this sort of thing happens quite often and that it is mostly unintentional. Jethro Tull's We Used To Know and The Eagles Hotel California. Kate Bush's You Want Alchemy and Debussy' s Claire de Lune. I have often thought that Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box sounded a lot like Paint it Black by the Stones.

I suspect that in the case of Jarre/Bruckner and Bush/Debussy, it was intentional. They were both well enough educated to know exactly what they were doing.

Kate Bush did not include this on any of her albums. I believe it was on the B side of Moments of Pleasure. Knowing the work of Kate Bush quite well, I doubt she intentionally "borrowed" it. It is a gorgeous song, she and Debussy get on quite well.

Being as he, Ian Anderson, mentioned it in detail last time I saw them Jethro Tull are VERY much aware of the Eagles"piracy".

Yes, Ian Anderson is aware of it but he seems not to mind. I read a number of interviews he has given on this subject and he claims that he is slightly flattered.
