Subject: Le p'tit Moine by Barachois From: InOBU Date: 10 Dec 99 - 02:57 PM I lost the album notes, and Barachois is one of the Wonderful groups that post the words, SO It is my own fault! But if anyone has the Barachois album with this song on it, I would greatly apreciate the words to Le p'tit Moine. Merci Larry |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Le p'tit Moine by Barachois From: Áine Date: 10 Dec 99 - 05:05 PM A Lorcan na gCurach, I'm not familiar with this group; however, if this is a Cajun song, then perhaps you can find it by asking at the Cajun French Music Association. Let me know if you find the words, I'd love to see them. Slan, Áine |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Le p'tit Moine by Barachois From: InOBU Date: 10 Dec 99 - 06:14 PM It is actually a song from Prince Edward Island. If you use the search term Barachois, you will find the band and a hotel on that island. They are extremely funny, the lead singer has a beautiful voice that he sometimes uses like a fireengine sireen. During the song mentioned above, he sometimes calls up on stage five audience members. He puts different size fezs on four of them, that have rubber tops, and the last, he put a hard hat with a cymbol. He then plays their heads as a drum set while singing. The song is about a monk, who lives for love, who in trying to get close to a milkmaid, ofers to help her milk a cow, who kicks him ass over head. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Le p'tit Moine by Barachois From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 11 Dec 99 - 10:54 AM I saw Barachois at the Old Songs Festival 1998 (in Altamont NY) and they were fantastic! Not only is their musicianship the best, but they have a great show- the "compulsory audience participation" is the best! |
