About a year ago I started dabbling in writing fiddle music. The first piece that I finished properly was called 'The Trip To Limone', inspired by a boat trip on Lake Garda.
At the end of last year I emailed the tune to a lady called Hope Grietzer who lives in New York State USA. She is a superb violinist, fiddler, writer and music teacher who runs a music website.

Well, she's only gone and used my tune as her tune of the month which means it will stay in her archive and be downloadable throughout the world.
Tune of the Month

Also, she's recorded an mp3 version:

All I have to do now is learn to play it as well as she does!

Your mp3 link is corrupt - the one on Grietzer's site works, though.

Hello, Captain Swing. That's a lovely waltz. Congratulations on having in recognized.

I see that it is copyrighted. May I print it out for a small band to play as the final couples' waltz at our next English Country Dance?

Yes of course Leeneia. I only use the copyright in the very unlikely event that someone records it and starts to make money out of it. Please feel free to pass it on to any musicians that would like it.

What part of the world are you from Leeneia?

Thanks Leeneia

It's interesting to find out where the music is going. I wonder if it will find its way back here after some time and how it will have changed and developed in the process?

I hope so. I listened to a dozen or so pieces played by Hope Grietzer. She is a wonderful player.

I recommend that all Mudcatters who actually play music visit the site.
