There are several songs with the same title. This is probably the one Peter wanted.

SAME OLD BLUES
Don Nix

Mornin' rain keeps fallin'
Like the tears that fall from my eyes,
And as I sit in my room,
Staring out at the gloom.
It's the pain of the same old blues.

I can't help, I can't help but thinkin'
When the sun used to shine in my back door.
Now the sun has turned to rain.
All my laughter's turned to pain.
It's the pain of the same old blues.

Sunshine, sunshine is all you see now,
But it all looks like clouds to me,
And as I sit in my room,
Staring out at the gloom,
It's the pain of the same old blues.

[Recorded by Missy Andersen, Greg Barrett, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Popa Chubby, Tino Gonzales, Donna Greene & The Roadhouse Daddies, Junkyardmen, Freddie King, Tom Lepson, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Larry McCray, Tracy Nelson, Don Nix, Cybill Shepherd, Big Ken Smith, W. C. Spencer, Irma Thomas]

Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: THE SAME OLD BLUES (J J Cale)
From: MandolinPaul

There's a JJ Cale song by the same name. Since EVERYBODY covers JJ, there's a good chance it's the same song. I haven't heard JJ's version in ages, but Jackson Delta, an acoustic blues trio from Peterborough, Ontario used to do an excellent minor-key version. I've inserted the chords, in square brackets, in the first verse. The chords and melody stay the same throughout; unless specified, assume a minor chord. It sounds amazing with some very simple, loose finger-picking.

The Same Old Blues - by JJ Cale

[A]have you heard that rumour
that's been going around
[D]that you've got a man
way across [A]town
it's the same old [D]story
tell me why does it [A]end
with the [E]same old blues
the [D]same old [Cmaj]blues again[A]

well i wrote you a letter
you must have read it wrong
i stood at your doorway
when you were gone
it's the same old story
tell me why does it end
with the same old blues
the same old blues again

well you gave me the business
and i gave you mine
i got a lot of patience
i got a lot of time
it took a lot of courage
to let the telephone ring
got the same old blues
the same old blues again

i'm gonna climb me a mountain
gonna hi-ide out
i ain't talking to you
and i ain't coming out
it's the same old story
tell me why does it end
with the same old blues
the same old blues again

Hope this is the one you're looking for.

Paul

I am searching for the lyrics and the chords for the song "Same old Blues". I think it's written by Don Nix, but I'm not sure about it. Is anybody able to help me?
