I am sorry for the lateness of this, but the Southern California has lost its last remaining folk music program. For over 40 years, most with her late husband, Howard Larman, she programmed and hosted Folk Scene at KPFK radio which I'm sure is the longest running folk program in Los Angles. We used to have some great folk radio personalities, here, but all have passed or been retired: Les Claypool, Jr.; Skip Weshner (LA and from New York); John and Deanne Davis, and some I've forgotten their names. Roz's son Alan is carrying the program forward.

sad loss
good night Roz
good night Howard

The programmes have included wonderful concerts and wonderful interviews over the years.

as far as I can tell archive.kpfk.org usually holds only recent broadcasts of Folk Scene for 14 days. From the broadcast on 2016-10-16 I gather that the "family" will be continuing to draw on the archive material as well as developing into the future. I wish them well. G.

I'm sorry to learn of Roz's death. She was a great supporter of Folkies and Folk Music in the Los Angeles area. Do read her obituary in the Los Angeles Times. It will tell you all you need to know about this remarkable lady. I have added her to the "In Memoriam" thread.

RIP

Peter

I used to listen to Howard & Roz for many years on their folk music program that aired on Sunday evenings. Also enjoyed so many of the folk music guests they had on their program. Met both a few times back in the 1980's. Sorry to hear now of Roz's death. I receive the L.A. Times and looked in today's obits. (Oct. 30, 2016) but do not see mention of it in today's paper. Pete Waddon in post says it is in the L.A. Times obit. but I cannot find it. What did Roz pass away from and when what date of the Los Angeles Times is it mentioned?
Thank you.
