It occurs to me that right about now (Nov. 11 is St. Martin's Day) would be a good time to learn and record Martinmas Time, the song about a girl who dresses up as a soldier to get out of having to visit soldiers. But I can't find the chords - anyone got them? I understand they are in the Andy Irvine Songbook, if anyone has that.

I think that's the one on the Irvine/Brady album that ends with that gorgeous hornpipe Little Stack Of Wheat. I seem to remember that they perform the song and tune in the key of F which is right for Andy's vocal range. The tune as a standalone is more usually played in G. I can't play the guitar but I'd suggest that you listen to their version and work out the chords by strumming along. Somebody cleverer than me could tell you where to put your capo for F! The chords sound fairly simple (mostly a three-chord job with the occasional optional embellishment?) and predictable to my untutored ear. You may need to transpose them anyway for your own voice. I'm taking it that "Jen" in your name denotes female! Good luck - it's a lovely piece, and one of my favourite tracks from that fabulous album.
