yes it's one of those black German models with the rose !

It's in a terrible state, but I'd hate to just throw away any musical instrument.

Is there anyone in West Sussex (UK) who would like the autoharp for parts ?

This is of course a give away.

Sounds like a Rose Morris. I had one of those in the mid 60's. It was the first musical instrument I ever learned to play. I got it after watching Bill Clifton play one and tell the audience, "If you want to play an instrument but can't get going with a guitar or banjo, buy one of these. and if you can't get going with one of these.... buy a Triangle!"

If I still lived in the UK I'd bite your hand off for it, but alas I now live in Western Australia.

Like Bugsby, if I were closer I'd love to get it to restore. Hope it gets a deserving home.

Aren't the German "Rosen" models much older, like late 19th century?

Still not worth more than a few quid - I have one I paid 20 pounds for in working order, and that's what the going rate is.

this one was most definitely not in working order, but restoration is a possibility. Yesterday over a pint of Sussex ale, the ownership transferred to a London based mudcatter.
