Subject: A new parody - source?
From: DADGBE
Date: 17 Dec 16 - 01:36 PM

A friend found this somewhere on the internet and I'd like to know if anyone has info about it. The melody it the Clarence Ashley version of The Cuckoo.

Oh the cuckoo, he's the president
and he tweets, when he gets high
but he only tweets, ugly nonsense
Oh dear God, I wish he'd die.

He builds casinos, for all the gamblers
He builds them here, he builds them there
Then he loses all the money investors give him
Then he keeps their shares.

He's a goof ball, not a golf ball
His name's in letters, ten feet high
On shiny buildings, made of ticky tack
Oh dear god, I wish he'd die.

He's a liar, he's a cheater
He's a smiler, he's a frog
He's a swamp thing, made of evil
Wants to build, a world wide bog.

Help me Jesus, help me Allah
Help me Buddha, help me Thor
I hear them coming, I hear them marching
I hear the cuckoo, at my front door.

A very quick search brought up "Trump I wish he'd die" but not "God I wish he'd die," for what that's worth.

And here's another new one which we just wrote:

I WAS BORN ABOUT TEN THOUSAND YEARS AGO (Trump)

1. I was born about ten thousand years ago
And there's nothing in this world that I don't know
I can handle any crisis, I can even wipe out Isis
And I'll lick the guy that says it isn't so

2. I am Satan and immigrants I deplore
I want Mexicans and Muslims out the door
And from my tower tweetin', the lies I am repeatin'
And I swear that I believe 'em to the core

3. I saw Hillary out on the campaign trail
And thought I'd never live to tell the tale
But I got diabolic and became quite hyperbolic
And said I thought she ought to be in jail

4. I heard Samson had very tiny hands
I told Columbus that I would own this land
And for Ivana's little kiddies, I bought half of New York City
And to Atlantic City took my brand

5. I taught Solomon his little A-B-C's
I bragged about my own depravities
I sometimes went astray shortly past my wedding day
And I never even made apologies

6. Then Marla, she fell in love with me
We were married owing to her pregnancy
But I fooled around and shook her, found Melania like a hooker
Then I started up a university

7. I was born about ten thousand years ago
And there's nothing in this world that I don't know
I'm a climate change denier and a frequent falsifier
And I'll lick the guy that say it isn't so

Bev and Jerry

A threat against a USA president...is…

VERY Serious

Mr. Joe should know.

Burning the flag may be interpreted as "freedom of speech", however...posting a thread like this could potentially lead to doing serious time dancing in a federal hokey pokey.

I have frequently stretched the Mudcat limits through the past two decades. IMHO this should be considered in the realm of "they that shall not be spoken"'''from years past.

Sincerely,

Now, Garg, do you really think "they" would consider it a threat to simply wish the President's decease?
Mr. Joe, Retired Fed

Dear guest,

I can't imagine that a post like mine could be interpreted as a threat as it contains no threats. If anyone gets into trouble over it, then we'll all be in even greater danger from our government than I suspect we already are.

Hi Bev and Jerry,

Great work! Keep it up.

Hi, DADGBE. Garg is an acquired taste, like good Scotch. Stick around, and you'll get to love him.

Hi there Snowflakes!

Pause to consider what your reaction would have been if the election of a black man with a very foreign name had evinced the same petulant reaction from your political opposites eight years ago.

Grow up!

Your energies would be better expended in asking "why was he elected?" and making an attempt to remedy the underlying causes for the answer. Insulting your opponents is a singularly barren form of debate.

Meanwhile, unless someone assassinates Trump on the 20th, the world is stuck with him for the time being - we will all have to learn to live with it.

I'm no fan of Trump, believe it or not, nor yet of Brexit, but the current anti-Trump hysteria is somewhat overdone IMHO.

Will this post result in the thread being consigned to BS or will it simply be erased? Time will tell.

Alan

Here's my twopennorth, probably be the shortest Trump poem. Fill in any missing words you like and add prefixes/suffixes.

Bump, chump, clump, dump,
Grump, hump, jump, lump,
Pump, slump, sump, thump,
   TRUMP!

Maybe Gargoyle might take into account two things;

Mudcat allows people to promote hatred anyway, even where laws protect people from such criminals as gay folk here in The UK have found.

I'm thankfully not a yank so can't do federal time for pointing out your freak in chief is a lying failure in business who uses hatred and bigotry to gain influence from those he sets out to use. His use of shitkickers and simple folk is similar to me using the excellent Stars and Stripes toilet paper I got as a present recently. (The real present was the Union Jack paper but you got a bonus roll of Uncle Sam for when it needs to be thicker. Still chuckling at that one.)

Nice songs by the way. The American civil rights movement spawned some excellent music along the way. Nice to see the tradition still going.

That last post made me think of
Mavis Staples, one of the last surviving members of the Staples Singers.

She has been publicly quoted as saying that the outbreaks of violence against the police force, for example, make her feel like the 'Sixties are happening all over again.

Freedom of speech also allows the spin doctors to brainwash the brain-dead! The songs we write are attempts to counterbalance this.

Alan, I can't begin to tell you how many times on Mudcat, during the prior administration, that I've posted, regarding CORRUPTION, in our political systems, and even pointed out, to them, that instead of defending the lies, and phony 'talking points', they should hold their politicians and 'news' medias accountable, or they were going to suffer huge losses....and guess what happened???!!!???...and BTW, do you know how many bogus NONSENSICAL 'PHOBIAS' I was ACCUSED OF(on here)??...and from reading a lot of the newer posts on here, they still DO NOT get it!! They are willing dupes, for the globalist mega corporations, hiding behind phony 'political' causes....and refuse to THINK, or even consider processing REAL information!!...instead, they all just pat each other on the back, as to re-assure themselves, that 'they' are not alone, in their stupid indoctrinations.
Personally, as I've said MANY times before, it would serve them better to focus on MUSIC, sans the political nonsense, as music is a far higher calling....and can accomplish a lot more FOR people than deceptive 'political news''!!
....and I AM Correct...and events have proven it!
But, as I've also posted a bazillion times before, " History teaches us that man never learns from history!"

Not a parody but, with a bit of tweaking, this offering from the Austin Lounge Lizards back in 2011 may be of some topicality.

"History teaches us that man never learns from history". History teaches no such thing, in fact we have learned a great deal from history, it is what allows us to make progress, and we do make progress. I also think that the reaction to Trump has been way over the top..I am not a fan of his at all but some of the reaction borders on the absurd.
