Subject: RE: musician Alasdair Codona's hunger strike From: Felipa Date: 01 Jan 17 - 09:30 AM part of the update on fb: "A chàirdean, two government ministers have just come on a cèilidh and I have received certain assurances, as a result of which I am ending my hunger strike. Bliadhna Mhath Ùr dhan a h- uile duine. Alasdair" (the word céilidh is used here in the sense of a gathering, a get together. The last sentence wishes everyone a good new year) |
Subject: RE: musician Alasdair Codona's hunger strike From: Felipa Date: 31 Dec 16 - 10:07 AM and I got a link to "Death of British pound" at the bottom of this article: http://www.scotsman.com/news/man-on-homeless-hunger-strike-outside-scottish-parliament-1-4328170 I think that is the first report in The Scotsman about Alasdair's campaign. Yesterday the Daily Record reported that Alasdair had been persuaded to go to hospital. He got his potassium levels topped up, but said he was going to return to parliament building today. I'm not on the ground so I dont know what's developed today. I know some of us, from afar and on the spot have been pleading with Alasdair to come off hunger strike and to pursue his campaign in a healthier way. No update yet at https://www.facebook.com/AlasdairCodonaHungerStrike/ either. |
Subject: RE: musician Alasdair Codona's hunger strike From: Will Fly Date: 30 Dec 16 - 03:25 AM I just clicked the Daily Record link to read the article. Subject: RE: musician Alasdair Codona's hunger strike From: Felipa Date: 29 Dec 16 - 02:30 PM media coverage seems to be mainly in the Daily Record; this article helps explain how Alasdair came to this impasse http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/im-prepared-die-this-meet-9504000 |
Subject: musician Alasdair Codona's hunger strike From: Felipa Date: 29 Dec 16 - 07:46 AM I knew Alasdair through music and Gaelic language; I'm shocked to find that he is on hunger strike outside Scottish parliament in Edinburgh, in protest about homeless people's lack of access to services (as an address is needed. Alasdair has already been on hunger strike for 3 weeks now. https://inthepublicsphere.wordpress.com/2016/12/29/alasdair-codona-and-scottish-homelessness/ not a bs thread because the article also encapsulates videos of Alasdair's music |
