Subject: Lyr Req: Bluegrass lyrics - The Seldom Scene From: GUEST Date: 30 Dec 16 - 03:10 AM Hello, I'm looking for lyrics to a song named Trust In The Tide, recorded by The Seldom Scene. I tried to search for it but without any luck. I also tried to figure the lyrics just by ear, but as non-native english speaker, some parts of lyrics I just do not understand. Does anyone have this lyrics or at least know where to fing it please? |
Subject: Lyr Add: TRUST IN THE TIDE (The Seldom Scene) From: Jim Dixon Date: 01 Jan 17 - 11:28 PM Here's my transcription by ear. Some parts seem ungrammatical, with strange transitions from past to present or future, and the meaning is not always clear to me. TRUST IN THE TIDE As recorded by the Seldom Scene on "Scene It All" (2000) 1. Seems like we been needin' some kind o' plan. I guess we've been at sea too long with no sight of land, Not seein' eye to eye, Not knowin' what to try, And how all this trouble began. CHORUS: Let the water wash us back to the shore, Back to how we used to be, [and] what we had before; And if you're willin', you and I [could] trust in the tide To remind us what we started this journey for. 2. Like a road between New England and Tennessee, Ev'ry night I hear each mile callin' out to me, Singin' come on home But each direction gone It feels like where I ought to be. CHORUS BRIDGE: Back when somewhere is all that we hoped to be, Just two kids on a ride. I'll be nowhere unless you were [or "are"?] there with me, Walkin' by my side, On the day that we arrive. 3. 'Twas only yesterday that you showed the world to me, Told me nothing can't be done, child, if you believe. Now we've gone too far. Sit down where we are. There's so much ahead still to see. CHORUS |
