Subject: RE: Sydney NYE fireworks From: GUEST,Malcolm Storey Date: 31 Dec 16 - 09:37 AM Hi Sandra Judy and I have just watched the fireworks on the telly safely ensconced with a good bottle of Yellowtail Cabernet and supporting stubbies of Tooheys Old. We had thought about getting to somewhere to view the spectacle al fresco but having seen the enormous amount of "security" surrounding the event decided that a bite at our temporary home in Darlington, NSW and a wander around Newtown followed by more drinkies and the telly would suit our needs. The show was fantastic and it is a pity that only fragments of it are ever shown around the world. We were over the bridge on the train earlier in the day and there was no sign of anything happening. It really is amazing what the organising team achieve. We did see the event from Lady Macquaries Seat a few years back and that was rteally special but not realistically an option for us these days. Keep well and we may catch you before we return to the UK later in this new year. |
