Loreley @ The Goose Is Out! The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road. Nunhead, London SE15 3BE. 7PM.

£7 On the door. Floorspots very welcome.

We originally booked Loreley to support The Furrow Collective on the basis of their EP "Two Blind Mice"

When we saw them live, we really liked them (and so did the audience) so we booked them to headline our first club night at its new venue of The Ivy House!

Loreley are an exciting young folk duo from Reading who play a mixture of traditional folk lyrics and new music composed by themselves.

Since forming in 2014, Maddy Glenn (vocals, whistle, percussion) and Simon James Chisholm (mandolin, guitar, concertina) have gone from strength to strength: releasing their highly-acclaimed debut EP, "Two Blind Mice", in early 2015 followed by a full-length album, "Fortified", in December.

In the short space of time that they have been together Loreley have managed to break out of their local music scene and begin building a name for themselves all over the South East, cemented by a small tour of folk clubs and festivals in early 2016. Their smooth transitions between musical styles and a live performance that gets more engaging with every show make this duo one to keep an eye on in the future.

Simon & Maddy will be previewing their new album " The Frozen North " tonight.
