Subject: Lyr Req: I ain't got no lovin' baby now From: PHJim Date: 15 Jan 17 - 07:17 PM I recall learning barre chords to play a bluesy song circa 1964. I can recall the beginning and the chords, but much of it has escaped me. I thought perhaps John Hammond Jr. was the artist. Well my baby packed her suitcase And she started on that train. She was a married woman But I loved her just the same. And I ain't got no lovin' baby now No I ain't got no lovin' baby now |
Subject: Lyr Add: HEART IN SORROW (S Terry, B McGhee) From: cnd Date: 15 Jan 17 - 08:01 PM The song is HEART IN SORROW by Brownie McGhee 1. My babe packed her suitcase and she started to the train. She's a married woman, but I love her just the same CHORUS: Don't you know that I ain't got no lovin' baby now. (Yes, yes) You know that I ain't got no lovin' baby now. Well, it's I—I ain't got no lover now. My heart's in sorrow and the tears keep falling down. 2. That ol' lowdown fireman and that ol' cruel engineer. That ol' dirty conductor took my baby 'way from here. CHORUS: Don't you know that I ain't got no lovin' baby now. etc. 3. I started to write a letter and I laid the pencil down, My heart's got sorrow and the tears come rolling down. CHORUS: That's the reason I ain't got no lovin' baby now. etc. SOURCE: http://media.smithsonianfolkways.org/liner_notes/smithsonian_folkways/SFW40011.pdf (last page) I did not listen and check this for accuracy |
