Subject: urgent -- royalties to West Country Lady From: mg Date: 21 Jan 17 - 05:22 PM This is why I avoid royalties when I can..I thought I could do what I have done in the past and just go to easy licensing or somewhere and charge my credit card and boom done...i am not sure and need to take care of this asap..royalties to West Country Lady by Dermot O'Reilly...have a couple of emails in to his daughter and some agencies that license but if anyone has any additional info would appreciate it. Likewise for Cape St. Mary's but we can leave that one off the preliminary cd trying to get out for fisher poets...just had a placeholder version on for that one but West Country Lady is very important... if anyone knows the family personally could you please pm me. thanks. |
Subject: RE: urgent -- royalties to West Country Lady From: Joe Offer Date: 21 Jan 17 - 05:43 PM Wikipedia says Dermot O'Reilly (1942-2007) was an Irish-born Canadian musician, producer, and songwriter. He was a member of a group called Ryan's Fancy, and also performed with Fergus O'Byrne. I would think your best bet for licensing the song, would be to go through the Ryan's Fancy Website, http://www.ryansfancy.com/Contact.htm By the way, there are lyrics to lots of Dermot O'Reilly songs at GEST. The GEST people really know their stuff, and I'll bet they can help you license the song if the leads I gave don't work. Harry Fox Agency Songfile has one Dermot O'Reilly song listed, Mist Upon a Morning. the publisher is Morning Music (USA), Inc. - morning@look.ca It wouldn't hurt to contact them for information about your song. Here's the full listing for Morning Music: http://www.mpa.org/music-publisher/3317 Cape St. Mary's is listed at the Harry Fox Agency, and can be licensed online through http://www.songfile.com/. -Joe- |
