Subject: Mudcat´s Songbook?
From: skarpi
Date: 13 Dec 99 - 03:51 PM

I was wandering how about we mudcat people make our own Songbook? It coult be songs written by Mudcat people. How about that, if each one of us make one song,we could end up with four books and maybe a cd?. Maybe this is a bad wanderings?.Or we can have one song from each band that we are in, I know that Max is getting lot of songs from you folks.hhmmm. What do you all think about this?. I think we will talk about it first, before we think how we are gonna do it. all the best skarpi Iceland.

Do you mean to suggest that there are Mudcatters out there who have songs which have not been submitted to the DT? Surely in DT we already have the best songbook there is, what more are you looking for?

I'll go for the CD though, send the songs to Max.

Bert.

Bert and Skarpi,

How about we let the Mudcatters decide whether they want to send in a 'real' song or one that they've written about the Mudcat and/or Mudcatters (and the silly stuff)? I think that a combination of both would be the best representation of the Mudcat Cafe, don't you?

I know that I would like to submit the ever popular 'Mudcat Tavern Anthem' and the even more popular 'Cat Farts Serenade' for the silly stuff. But, I also have a couple of 'serious' songs that I would like to share with everyone.

What do y'all think about that?

The drag with publications is distribution.which is where the Digital Tradition wins out.

How about a songbook on the net? Parallel with the DT, maybe including some songs that are in it and some that aren't. I've got a few of my own that might make it.

What it would need would be some individual or a few individuals who'd put it together, and then expose it to comments and suggestions by the wider Mudcat community. And I am not volunteering.

It could be dedicated the Harry Fox and co. "A Mudcat Compendium of Non-Fox Songs".

Jeff - if I convert, can you play back the midi to make sure it converted okay??? or do you have no capability at all?

BTW - Noteworthy composer (shareware, downloadable) will create a midi for you. I assume that if you can do ABC you could do the dots on a page....

This is indeed a good idea. What I would suggest is that until a more concrete form is dedided on, which could take a long time, We use this thread for new contributions and for links to songs and stuff that have already been entered in other threads.

Then if you were looking for a particular song, you would only have to search this one thread, instead of trying to remember the exact name of the thread the work was placed in.

Then we could decide if it was worth bothering with on a more formal basis. I would suggest that it would be as I am pleased to see that we have some very talented newer contributors as well as the older ones.

I shall make a start here as I have quite a few songs scattered all over the place.

ONLY THE SHANNON KNOWS --words & music by Matthew Richards

Prologue:

When I was but a young man, nineteen years old or so
I met the first and only love that I would ever know
The feeling, yes, it laid me low--Oh, it seems so long ago...
And only the Shannon knows
Only the Shannon knows

1.) I saw her in the field one day, at potato digging time,
I'd taken up a job there, for the whole harvest time;
And when she turned her face to me, her long brown hair unfurled,
I saw a beauty that ne'er again will be seen upon this world
Everyday that girl was there, and as I watched here more,
I felt the grip of love on me, which I'd never felt before;
And as the days passed quickly by, the deeper in I fell,
And exactly where it'd take me in the future, none could tell.

Chorus:
That riverland it rolled and flowed, down to the waterside,
As the autumn of my dreams rolled in, and then ebbed like the tide;
Her bonny face still haunts me so--Oh, it seems so long ago...
And only the Shannon knows
Only the Shannon knows

2.) I never knew her name, until one day by chance,
I saw it on a workers list, upon which I had glanced;
And when I had learned it, it was like music to my mind,
And the beauty of it greatly justified who it described.
I asked some folks about her, from round about those lands,
They said she'd 'been in trouble' and had a baby on her hands;
"A baby isn't trouble!" I said, and be it as it might,
A baby is a miracle in any sort of light.

3.) It wasn't really perfect, thought--for it seemed she did not see
The boy who loved her from afar, and adored her quietly;
But one day I flashed a smile at her, and she returned it back to me,
Our eyes me for a moment, then she turned and walked away.
So I thought that I should ask her to a ceilidh in the town,
With dancing, fiddles, pipes, and more, and cider all around;
But when I went to ask her, a tear fell from my eye,
For I saw my bonny lassie in the arms of another boy.

Based somewhat on a real-life experience.

Well, it seems that I've had this TOTALLY blank website sitting around for awhile, SO, I might as well offer it up the common Mudcat good . . . I have 10 Meg available -- do y'all think that's enough to at least start with?

I do have some experience in 'webmistressing' (ha ha ha). Here are the two sites that I currently have on the web. My Personal Website

Website for the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas Gaeilge League

Check them out and let me know if you want me to handle The Mudcat Songbook site. Of course, this all has to be approved by Max and Dick, and I will abide by any decision about anything that they make.

Let me hear from you, Áine

This is actually where this message belongs (I posted it to the thread Catspaw linked above).

At the very least, we should have a section of the DT devoted to songs by Mudcatters (all with Catspaw's dedication and my caveat: Anyone is welcome to perform these songs in public without royalties; however, if any of them are recorded or published for profit, the writers/composers expect the usual royalties.) And, within the Songs by Mudcatters subdivision of DT, there should be a songs about the Mudcat and Mudcatters: Áine, your kissy-poo limericks oughta be there, too. If I knew hatemail from hotmeal from hitmule, I'd be happy to edit the book. Actually, I'd be happy to do a print media book, complete with pictures of artists and artifacts: possums and hammered dulcimers, bios, maybe extracts from the threads, etc. Kat? Ya wanna collaborate?

I took your suggestion, dear 'Seed, and added a disclaimer -- actually, I ripped yours off in its entirety -- to the The Mudcat Songbook site homepage and to each song lyric page.

The songwriters currently with work on the site are: The Shambles, Catspaw, Mbo, Jacob Bloom, and Bert. If anyone else wants to add their songs, contact me at doireanne@yahoo.com.

Hard working people are the miners of town
Cold cold winters were known in Bodie
They sorted the ore, took the gold from the ground

Many a miner dug his grave out in Bodie
Good God is it ever so cold out in mines
Many a lady sold her soul out in Bodie
It's a hard hard town where the sun seldom shines

She's a cold cold woman who sells her soul
Theres a mighty cold wind that blows in Bodie

There was talk a while back about the possibility of adding a standard music transcription feature to the 'cat. Max, if you're listening, are we any closer to that happening? If we could print out lead sheets for melodies and chords, those of us who learn that way would certainly benefit greatly (not just of the Mudcat songbook, either--for the entire database: if we got enough people up to speed, we could get through the 10,000 songs in no time at all (well, maybe a year or so).

I can put ABC, GIF or other graphic files up for tunes, but since I only have 10 meg, midi or other 'sound' files won't be possible. If you do have a MIDI file, you could send it to alison for the Mudcat MIDI page, then I could link from your lyrics page OR from the name of your tune (for non-lyric music) to the midi on that site.

Was that just as clear as mud? Any questions, ask me again and I'll try to clear it up. And any other suggestions, etc., let me know.

Thanks, Áine

Oh -- one thing I forgot to mention -- Since I've posted a disclaimer that if your material is performed for money, you expect royalties, then I need to have a way to contact you songwriters. How about if you send me your email addresses? You can send to them to my email address if you don't want to post them here.

Áine --- uhmmmm? Question? most of the midi's I have are much much much much SMALLER then the same tune done as a gif, or even jpeg. so isn't the above the reverse of what you want?

On the other hand, ABC or miditxt are even smaller then midi, so......

So....maybe we should go with just ABC or miditxt formats?

You guys are obviously more familiar with the 'tune' side of things than I am, so I'll let you work out what the SMALLEST formats would be, OK? I just want to be able to give folks access to the tunes, as well as the words.

Talk amongst yourselves and let's come up with the best idea.

Dear Shambles,

Thanks for the cudos, and I'm so glad you like the page. Your latest additions should up now. Please check and see that I transcribed them correctly.

As for posting songs, whatever you all want to do is fine with me. You can send submissions to me via email (see the Mudcat Resource page or go the the Songbook page), or you can continue to post things here. Only, sooner or later, the thread will get too big to load.

I was thinking about starting another thread entitled 'The Mudcat Songbook Is Up!' to tell the other 'Catters the 'whats and wherefores' and seek further submissions. However, I think that I will hold off on that until we settle on the ABC vs. MIDI vs. MIDITXT issue for the tunes. Let's see everyone's ideas on that issue, OK?

As for the inclusion in the 'Quick Link' on the Mudcat site, that's entirely up to Max. I think that the Mudcat Midi site should be in the Quick Links, too, however. Shambles, perhaps you could send Max an email re same and let us know what he says?

Take care and keep writing songs! -- Áine

I can't do ABC...... it is easiest for me if you just send me the MIDI file which I can them upload to the site. But if anyone wants to send me GIFs or snail mail me music I will transcribe them into the computer and make MIDIs.......

There are other threads dealing specifically with Mudcat MIDIs...... all the info you need is on the site....

Hey, what happened? It used to be that when you followed Catspaw's link to his thread song, you got the thread where he put it--which led on to a couple of my thread songs, "Missing the Mudcat Blues," and "Threads on the Ohio," neither a parody of Catspaw's, because both predate his by a year. I looked in the book and was struck by the absence of my songs. Do I gotta do everything? And there are a bunch of my strike songs on an old thread called "Movement Songs." Also, my version of Bob Gibson's "Abilene," with two new verses--does that count?

If I come back here tomorrow and my songs are still lost in the ozone, I'm just gonna hafta...go to all the effort to post links to them myself.

My dear Seed.

I think you will find that the link is to just that posting on the thread. If you do a Forum search on the name of the thread, the whole thread will come up and you can then go to your post, highlight the html address that comes up and you can then create a link to just to that song. I don't think there is an easier way of doing it? The main trouble is remembering the name of the thread that you posted to, which is why putting them all together here is such a good idea. Good luck.

Hi Sharpie, here's an addition at Aine's request.
Well Aine, you asked, hope you're not sorry you did.

No Tomorrow For The Poor: by Barry Finn
Tune: Virginia Lags, Traditional

Inside the ghettos dwells the greatest of crimes
Where kids with no hope are serving their time
Where they're shocked into feeling that life has no price
They live and they die no tomorrow

With no higher learning, no place they can turn
They see daily the wealth from crime they can earn
They're under the gun every time that they turn
And we ask why they have no values

Their language is foreign, their culture is strange
There's slight chance for survival outside of a gang
To get life from drugs beats the pain of no change
There's no light at the end of their tunnel

There's abuse of all kinds that runs rampage with rage
And the cycle runs deeper with each passing age
Until lock them away is all we can say
They've been locked away all of their young lives

We'll draw cheap labor from them that'll slave
And watch while we help the rest into the grave
Keep them from good health, good schools and good wage
And hope that there isn't a backlash

So now let us finish and shake hands with our fate
And don't be surprised when you're a victim of hate
What they've been robbed of, to you they'll relate
You'll be hunted as prey by your victim

Barry Finn 1997

Sir Tristram
Tune & Words by Barry Finn

Across the raging waters
Across the Irish Sea
I bring King Mark my Uncle
My love his bride to be

It's dark and I'm dreary
As we sail o'r the main
It's wet and I'm weary
Though I'm with my love again

I was trusted to the Kings right hand
Protector of the realm
There's no a man in all the land
To me would not bow down

My name it is Sir Tristram
Nephew to the King
I am a knight of high renown
Though with the Queen I've lain

May Iseult forgive me
I pray Mark do the same
The love I bare for King and Queen
I'll take unto my grave

Barry Finn 1997

Old Glory Sails by Barry Finn
Tune: Empty Nets by Jim Payne

She's a three masted frigate with an entrance real fine,
A 54 gunner and well laid out in style.
She's been bruised, but not broken, scarred and well worn,
She's the oldest still serving and her back is still strong.

Chorus: And all the young nation hopes that her glory won't pale,
And she'll say in the service under full sail.

With the Barbary Pirates off of Tripoli's coast,
It was a battle fought fiercely and few lives she lost.
Like rolling thunder a broadside she poured,
Sending enemy ships to the ocean floor.

Chorus:

Off New Jersey she was sited by King George's fleet,
With no wind and alone she turned in retreat.
For two days and three nights the crew towed her o'r the shoals,
With brilliance and fresh wind she out distanced five foes.

Chorus:

At 14 knots she was fast for her time,
She out sailed most of the Ships Of The Line.
In battle the cannonballs bounced off her side,
Off Halifax she was christened with the name Ironsides.

Chorus:

The Guerriere she met with her 48 guns,
Within an hour her masts and her rigging were gone.
Like the Pitcairn and the Java who'd not be taken in tow,
They were all left for the waves to wash over their bows.

Chorus:

Never holed or dismasted by an unfriendly gun,
Two centuries of service and she stood every storm.
Now with new copper sheathing, planking, decking and frames,
In her glory she'll sail as the fleet's pride once again.

Chorus:

Barry Finn 1997

This one was on the Mudcat but in was only in a personal message, so that's why the words are here and not just a link.

That Mirror Image

When you're back n the 'old routine' You're just part of the great machine The wheels grind round and round Until the day they finally wear you down You wipe a tear from your eye To find that life has past you by

So come, come away with me To a place where the mountains reach the sea To watch, the white horses play As they chase the sun down to another day I don't care what they say There's more than one way

You're sure to lose your soul You're a square peg in a round Well I know, how hard you tried But you're just swimming against the tide That mirror image, is it true? Is that reflection really you

So come, come away with me To a place where the mountains reach the sea To watch, the white horses play As they chase the sun down to another day I don't care what they say There's more than one way

I am going to do a little experiment on file sizes for tunes. I have a couple that I'll try in ABC, GIF, and JPEG. and compare file sizes. I'll report to this thread on what I find. GIF files might be best for the software-impaired, as anyone can see them. ABC files are wonderfully small, however. I don't believe I can do MIDI at the current time, but MMario has offered to help me on that. Can someone point me to info on MIDITXT? I never heard of it before I found Mudcat.

Aine,

This is a great idea and I've got a few I'll send. I'm assuming I just have to post them here. Here's one.

I CAN'T REACH MY BEER

(A slow, country, dirge-like, cry in your beer waltz sung with a nasal twang. Think Faron Young.)

When we first started courting* You made me feel like a king* But now that you left me I don't feel a thing* Lying face down in this barroom and missing you dear*Help I've fallen and I can't reach my beer.*

If I could get one shot of courage*I'd stand on my feet*Get up out of this sawdust and into the street*Well I'd find your new boyfriend and punch him into next year* But help I've fallen and I can't reach my beer.

BRIDGE

Oh who would of thought I'd wind up like this*Can't even stand up to take me a...to the lavatory*I guess I'll spend my life on this old barroom floor* Cursing your name and calling you a whor,-or,-or,-or -rible person.

But fightin' and hatin' ain't no way to live* So I guess I'll have to find a way to forgive* In fact I'd like to drink a toast to the one who put me down here*But help I've fallen and I can't reach my beer*(additional line)My darlin', I've fallen and I can't reach my beer. Is there some other way you'd like me to post additional songs or will this suffice. Sorry, my html skills are non-existent. Thanks,

Frankie

Here´s a song from Iceland. It´s called Traweller´s

Well you send the boys to Iceland and let them sing for us. They tell us about the history the people and the cult.

Chorus: And they sing about the roses and whiskey in the jar all the Galway races and Nelsons big pillar. So in the end they all say I´m Off to Amerkey, theres money and gold and plenty and I never will have to stray.

Well they sing the songs so brightly and it comes from their heart. With every song they sing so bright they drive us from the dark.

Chorus: x 1. this was writen by Skarpi Iceland last month. I must try to send midi soon.

jeffp -- Thanks for doing the sound file 'experiment'!

Everyone -- Don't forget that if you have a MIDI file, you can send it to alison and she can put it on the Mudcat Midi Page (see her message above). Then, I can link the lyrics to your song to the sound file on that page.

The Mudcat Songbook is beginning to take shape -- Thanks to all of you who have submitted songs -- don't forget to mention the Songbook to other Mudcatters on other threads, so everyone will know they can submit their songs, too!

Subject: Lyr Add: IT SURE AS HELL AIN'T COUNTRY (K Morse)
From: kendall
Date: 19 Dec 99 - 12:21 PM

Here is one I submitted to the dt, but, I dont know if it will make it or not. Its bases on a true experience, but, I took great liberties with the truth.
It sure as hell aint country

I was rolling along on the interstate in an 18 wheeler two hours late
Searching the dial for a country song
But I never did find one,
Nothin' on but rock music, thats an oxymoron
I picked up a hiker to relieve the gloom
Tought if she's willin' I'll get us a room
Make our own music..no such luck
All she wanted was my radio.

She found a station that was playing that stuff that some call country, that was bad enough
Then, she started singing along
Had a voice that would shatter Tupperware

We rode that way for miles and miles
I tried to talk, but, she just smiled
Kept on singing with that awful voice
Finally, I knew I had no choice
I gotta get rid of her, or shut her up somehow.
I stopped at a diner outside Duluth
Found myself a darked booth
Tried to get friendly, but she couldnt hear
Had one of them damned Walkmen stuck in her ear
Same old rock and roll. Nuff to make you chew your own leg off.

I dropped her off in my own home town
She opened the door, and 'fore she jumped down
She wanted to know if we'd meet again
I said "Aint likely, I'm not into pain."
I finally walked through my own front door, tv was on going full bore
The boy was watching TNN, and that same old racket hit me again
Cant get away from it..its like pollution
It's everywhere.
Sme guy was pounding a big stack of drums
Screeming something at the top of his lungs
Another had a "steel" and a cowboy hat
My son said "Whats the matter? you dont like that?
He's singing 'bout the land of the free"
I said "Boy, you could have fooled me
But, I'll tell you this much..
IT SURE AS HELL AINT COUNTRY.

I must confess.. I dont have a son, I dont do one night stands, and I never pick up hikers.

Hi Everyone! Congratulations for a job still being well done! I think we've got a *hit* on ours hands here, don't you? I look forward to seeing the list of songs grow on this page -- so get busy!

I just want to let you all know that I might be a little busy this week, with Christmas and all. My son is coming home from university tomorrow and I'm still wrapping presents. Keep sending in your songs; but, if I'm not as 'fast on the draw' as I have been in the last couple of days, please don't get mad. I'll get to it as soon as I can!

We still need to figure out how to put up the tunes to these wonderful works of art -- jeffp was going to experiment with sound file size -- any news there jeffp? If anyone has any ideas, please post them here. Of course, don't forget that alison has kindly offered to post your tunes in MIDI on the The Mudcat Midi Page.

Well, I've got to go and get the hubby off to work, so I'll check back later. Slan, Áine

Looks like the experiment is going to take me a little longer than I hoped. I have one tune that takes up 1k as an ABC file and the same as MIDI. I am trying to create a GIF and JPEG, but I think it will require software that I have at home, not here at work. I'll try to finish tonight, but with all the seasonal commitments, it make take me until tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Just took another look, and another path opened up for me. The GIF version of the same tune takes 17k and the JPEG is 26k. This is for a 16-bar fiddle tune, which takes up four lines on the staff. Doesn't seem like much space, but we all know how quickly it can add up.

Just to give an opinion to start with, I think maybe we could post GIF files and/or ABC on Áine's page and MIDI files on the Mudcat MIDI page with links from Áine's page. I think people with any kind of software would then be able to access something that they can use. Anyone else with ideas?

Silently,Silently

Lullaby for a borrowed child, or, The Uncle's Lament

Sir James' Reply

Whither thou Goeth, I'll go.
And Whither thou stayeth, I'll stay.
I''ll be Your Partner Forever, if only You'll say I may.

Put your Hand in my Hand, Dear.
Walk by my Side, My Love!
We were Meant for Each Other,
just as the Hand fits the Glove.

Would that I wake to your Beauty,
at the Dawn of each Day.
And I would praise God each Evening,
if I were Permitted to Say:

Whither thou goeth I'll go.
And whither thou stayeth I'll stay.
I'll be your True Love forever, if only You'll say I may.

With this Ring I would Wed thee,
With your Ring make me thine.
But two Metal Bands, about Our hands, are but the Outward Sign.
The Flame of Love we have Kindled, May it always Shine!
May we always See its Light, in each Others Eyes!

Whither thou goeth I'll go.
And Whither thou stayeth I'll stay.
Side by Side, forever, if only You'll say I May.

Let us grow Olde together,
United through thick and through thin.
Two made One, forever, Surrounded by Kindred and Kin!
I will pledge You my Love, Dear;
If You will pledge yours Mine.
All I have, and All I am, are Yours for All of Time!

Whither thou goeth I'll go.
And whither thou stayeth I'll stay.
I will be faithful forever, if only You'll say I May.

Yes I will be Faithful Forever, If Only You'll Say I May!

Untitled

The day is not quite over
But I fear that I must sleep
Now I must leave the party
But I beg you, love, "Don't weep."

I've danced to fiddle music
and I've sung the songs we share
and I leave you now amongst the hands
of friends who truly care

When your're feeling lonely
Remember all the hours
That we have shared together
Amongst lifes brightest flowers

Just hold me in your memory
As I'll hold you in mine
And I promise I'll be waiting
That we'll meet another time

This is going very well. But with Christmas and that com,ing on, I hope Aine isn't going to be put under too much pressure to get it fully under way. There's no hurry in the world.

One idea to save space on Aine site would be for people to put their songs on their own sites, with tunes attached, in RealAudio streaming, or whatever system suts them - and the Mudcat Songbook would carry links to these, together with some kind of index/search system.

Anyway, that's how I plan to do it with my songs - though right at present I'm having some problems in getting RealAudio to work with my site.

An important and historic moment. Wait a minute, I need to open the champagne... OK, there it is, now let me fill the glasses... Ok, everyone ready to toast?...

I have added the SongBook to the Quicklinks!

Thank you Áine, you have done something special.

Down the slipway she goes... Next comes the fitting out, and then the maiden voyage. But watch out for icebergs.

All the time in the world. As the man said "Take it easy, but take it"

The champagne is great, but Max, you could have served it to Áine in a flute instead of your slipper....

Three cheers for Áine -

Alan is willing to put ABCs on the mudcat MIDI page, if it saves you room Aine....

jeff... you haven't seen MIDItxt anywhere else because Alan of Oz created it for Mudcat.. works well too.... but now we can use MIDIs instead and don't need to translate the "red writing" anymore.....

Mmmmmmm . . . this stuff is great, Max -- especially with the raspberries and the creme de chassis MMario brought! And it lovely up here on poop deck this time of day, don't you think?

Thank you very much Max, for the support and the link. And thank you Kevin and Guy. I just hope I 'do y'all proud'!

And here's three cheers to bbc and alison and Alan for their wonderful resource and Midi pages, too! And here's a toast to Master Max for giving us the chance to find each other! Hip Hip Hoorah!

Keep singing, playing, and writing! -- Áine

Well, slap me up side the head and call me stupid!

Of course, the biggest glass of champagne and the biggest toast of all should go to Skarpi, who thought of this in the first place! 'For he's a jolly good fellow, that nobody can deny!'

Skarpi -- please look at the Songbook and I think you'll find a nice surprise!

So Á, since ABCs are being posted on the Mudcat MIDI page, what should be the procedure for tunes? Send them through you? or Submit them to the Mudcat MIDI page and then send you the link info? I've got one tune ready to send and just need a little concentration time to get another ready.

Thanks for volunteering to do the Songbook. It looks wonderful and I think it's a valuable addition to the resources here at MC. Happy Holidaze!!! *BG*

Dear jeffp,

Since alison and Alan have so graciously offered to post the ABC files and the MIDI files, let's go ahead and take advantage of them (hahahaha). I think it makes sense to keep all the Mudcat sound files together in one place, and the lyrics in another, so both sites can make the most of their bytes.

Be sure and let me know when you've sent alison/Alan your tunes, so I can link to their page.

Ho, ho, ho, and keep writing! -- Áine

I know you may find this unnatural, but I'd like to be totally serious for a moment and take time out of my busy schedule of making smartass comments.

This is truly a fine piece of work. It is so good to see our own folk's work in one place. I'm glad so many have contributed, especially Sham and Barry whose songs I find especially wonderful and perceptive. Roger, I'm so glad you've returned to us now, as a songbook would be incomplete without your works.

skarpi, it was a great idea!!!

Alan and alison...your continued efforts on the tune side of everything here at the 'cat is sincerely appreciated as you know. But thanks again!

Max, thanks for this place...and the quick service on the Quick Links.

And finally........AINE!!!! You are simply the best. The number of ideas that float around here that never come to fruition would fill a Liberian tanker and they sink just as fast. My initial thought in this thread was, "Yeah...here we go again. Fun thread, but basically BS." You made this happen and happen quickly. Simply temendous! Even though I've been known to blow up a possum's ass and now you have me being slobbered by a camel, if we were together, I'd plant the biggest smooch on you that my saggy old tortoise ass could muster!!!

Thank You

Spaw

Thank you dearest 'Spaw, for your words of praise and especially the great big camel slobber smooch last night on the radio! Normally, I don't go for fellas who hang out with long-necked ruminant mammals (one humped OR two), but, like I said last night, you're the best!
