Command line for downloading live stream with ffmpeg :

ffmpeg -i "http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_scotland_fm.m3u8" -c copy -t 02:10:00 output.ts

"Output" can be something like C:\Radio_recordings\TaketheFloor2017.03.18.ts

get_iplayer will get it - but use v2.94 if poss. The newer get_iplayer v2.95 ... v2.99 are reported as skipping chunks and files are rendered incomplete and therefore invalid.

Ignore CJB. Latest get_iplayer (2.99) works fine.

But 2.99 will not capture live radio stream which is at a higher bitrate. I use ffmpeg now to capture BBC live radio streams at around 362-368kbps.

Sounds interesting - but how does one get to hear it - forget about the technos please.
