As yet no evidence produced anywhere. The initial staged pictures show people wearing white paper PPE. That's a really good defence against sarin, about as effective as a chocolate fireguard. It has taken 3 days for staged photos of people wearing CBR suits to arrive on scene.
The rebels have previous history of using chemical weapons.

I suppose you subscribe to the official stance on 9/11 and the assassination of President Kennedy as well, and also believe it is the Russians and Syrians targeting infrastructure and not the illegal coalition forces.

I find it hard to come up with firm conclusions on any assertions made about the war in Syria. Truth is the first casualty of war.

Assad has claimed that the cemcals came from a strike on a rebel supply dump, but his ambassador didn't stick to the script and said it was from an air strike

There is as yet no evidence on who used the chemical weapons, but if IIRC President Assad gave up all his chemicals many years ago supervised by the UN.
It seems much more likely that this is a desperate last throw of the dice by a defeated Islamist grouping. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain and are mad enough to attempt such an atrocity.

If Assad had been removed from power earlier, Syria would now be an ISIS stronghold, with Jihadists ready to strike at a moments notice.

Assad has been using chemicals and massacring his own people for several years now - before that he was filling his prisons with torture victims and "disappearing" for several decades.
We actually watched his performance at Homs, where his snipers were competing with each other to see whether they could hit a woman and the child she was carrying with one bullet
Russia and China combined forces to prevent any U.N. action being taken to stop him and "decent, democratic" Britain voted in Parliament not to get involved, allowing Isis to fill the vacuum
Every death that has taken place since at the haands of Isis can be traced directly back to those event.
This latest atrocity was an air attack - I wasn't aware that Isis has air power capable of delivering chemical weapons, but we do live in a backwater on the west coast of Ireland, so we may have missed something - correct me if I have it wrong
Whatever the outcome of this shitty war, the people of Syria will be the losers
I hope Isis will be crushed, but monsters like Assad and "free Russia" will emerge as heroes of the piece and forget that it was them, and the inaction of the West that helped empower the fanatics in the first place

Jim it may well have happened. What is missing is proof of what happened and who caused it to happen. There are many different groups fighting in Syria including illegal coalition troops. All of them have an agenda to follow and truth is generally the first thing to suffer along with many innocent civilians.
Where was the outcry when chemical weapons were used during the Iran/Iraq war, and who was turning a blind eye, knowing full well it was occurring?
It would be the height of stupidity for Assad to use chemical weapons against his own people and that to me makes the scenario that he is the guilty party seem most unlikely. However it suits many factions to make it appear Assad or his Russian allies are guilty.
