It's a beautiful day down here in Sussex - sun, Spring flowers and birdsong unlimited - so I felt like recording a lovely tune by melodeon player Chris Wood: "Mrs Saggs".

Here 'tis on tenor guitar, with guitar accompaniment:

Mrs Saggs

Chris Wood writes some cracking tunes and well played Will but... "English melodeon player Chris Wood". Er, wot?

Indeed - for some reason I had Andy Cutting in my head when I was writing that!

Fiddle, viola, guitar...

When I first heard it, I thought it sounded like a country dance. Now it seems to me to be inspired more by an O'Carolan tune. Either way, it's good.

I admire the way you can get through it all without making a mistake. I always goof up somewhere.

If I made a major mistake (which I do) it certainly wouldn't get on YouTube! :-)

It's a comfort to know that other people mess up - just not as often as I do.

Oh, Nigel, Nigel - I thought it, but you had to say it! :-)
