Karin Rotter was half of the husband and wife ocarina firm Okarinamusikhaus in Austria, with her husband Hans. She died on 30 April; I don't know the details, she was about 20 years younger than Hans. She was the player in most of their videos, and did an enormous amount to promote the ocarina as a folk instrument in Europe. I only met her once, three years ago at a festival - energetic, witty and all-round gorgeous.

There are lots of videos of her on YouTube. I particularly liked her wacky versions of Austro-Bavarian oompah music.

Hans wrote on his Facebook-page Karin died 30 April, but that has to be 30 March. I think in his great grief he forgot to state the right month.
