Tall Ships Festival takes place this weekend around the Thames between Woolwich and Greenwich with lots of music.

A slightly reduced Morrigan (no Ros with us) will be on stage SUNDAY - 1.45 at Artillery Square, SE18 6ST - it's on the Royal Arsenal site, next to the Heritage Centre.

There are trips on the river, music, shanties and dance all weekend long and the weather promises to be nice too

Saw no dance, heard no shanties. Greenwich even had to import expertese from Sail Amsterdam because their own staff couldn't run a whelk stall let alone a festival. Most tall ship festivals allow visits to ships for free. We had to pay £10 each for a short ferry ride to 'our' ship Christian Radich. Then we were only allowed 30 mins on board. We have sailed on her a few times and wanted to buy some branded clothes. If it wasn't for the property developers blocking the old wharves and the Thames Path for building yet more blocks of over-priced condos tall ships could moor at the docks themselves.

I was there, with The Hog Eye Men, on Friday and Saturday. In addition to the six sets of shanties we performed, we also saw and heard the Portsmouth Shantymen and Swinging The Lead. Plenty of shanties if you knew where to look. Not sure what dance GUEST,CJB was looking for. I spoke to one morris dancer who told me his side were offered a place at the festival. The offer was, however, withdrawn when organisers realised it was a Border side that wear black masks!

Exactly! Nothing on the web site about the location of stages let alone who was performing or when.
