Kiveton Park Folk Club will be host to John Kirkpatrick as guest next Tuesday 25th April. One of our firm favourites, John is a veteran of the folk scene, a renowned performer, as a soloist and with many notable bands over a great number of years. Exquisitely skilled on accordion, melodeon and concertina, Johns expertise has led to him being recognised as one of the country's foremost folk musicians. His playing and singing are a delight to experience and have led to enviable reviews throughout his career. So, for a great evening of mainly traditional music and song from the 'squeezer geezer' get down to Kiveton next Tuesday, you'll not be disappointed. Check with Andy first so we can reserve a seat for you. (0114 2879592)

Regards

Andy

Andy,

I assume you realise that the internet is a world wide phenomenon?

'Kiveton FC' tells the world fuck all. Try and appreciate that. At the very least, link to your site and let people know where you are

Guest,
I'm sure that the very nice people who go to folk clubs, like myself, know how to google Kiveton Park FC" and so that is quite sufficient, if it's all the same to you!

True, but it would be helpful for the title to at least indicate what country it's in...

Well Guest

So, for instance, Whitby in relation to folk (which this site is about) would need to be indicated as being in North Yorkshire, England, UK, Europe, The World?
Nah!!!

In fairness, it wouldn't hurt to include the simple expedient of a post-code when people advertise their events.

But there's absolutely no need whatsoever for our un-named GUEST to be so bloody rude.

Apologies to some people who are put about by the lack of geographic precision regarding the location of Kiveton Park Folk Club. So for future reference the address is, Kiveton Park Colliery Cricket Club, Stone Close, Kiveton, Sheffield, South Yorks. S26 6SQ. The Website address has already been given in a previous post above. Hope that satisfies everyone. I will try to remember to put a link on future posts.

Regarding the John Kirkpatrick evening, Tuesday 25th April, doors open at 8:00, kick-off at approx.8:30. Admission will be £7. There will be free tea and coffee for non-imbibers and free food in the break. Hope that is enough info for anyone intending to be present. All welcome.

Regards

Andy

On my way!

Haven't been to Kiveton club in years. There was a time I could walk home down the canal back to Worksop. Now a 50 min blow down the motorway.
