This should be mentioned on the website

http://www.waterwaysongs.co.uk/

but .... I'm not sure if the guy who runs this is still active.

ian@waterwaysongs.co.uk

Its a website that needs archiving.

Having emailed Ian I got no response. I hope that he is OK. But if not his website needs archiving. CJB

I would agree with that. I'll suggest it to the appropriate Web Archive when I can find the link.

Fear not. Ian is fine.
He's away on his boat.

Phew! When he gets back perhaps we should suggest the archive idea. He's not anywhere the Aire & Calder is he?

It's the Macc at the moment.

I look forward to acquiring a copy of that CD -looks good.

Internet connection is limited at the moment but I'll add info about the CD as soon as I can.

Maybe archiving the website would be a good idea. A lot of people's work might disappear into the ether if it were to be lost.

Cheers everyone,
Ian

...No.
Nothing much on line but while I've got the links in front of me :

"Spare Hands are Hull's foremost (some would say only!) maritime folk band.
They are:
Mick McGarry,
Bill Sowerby,
Les Ward,
Steve Gardham and
Tom Gaynard."

No other info on their website yet but for future reference

Thanks for the interest shown in Spare Hands. The CD has been recorded and we are expecting it will be available within the next week, just waiting for the sleeve to be printed. The website is also in its infancy and we are just processing the information for it. It will contain all the song words from the Waterways CD and our two previous CD's [ Where the whalefish blow and Spare Hands ] as well as information about the songs and the group. No doubt Steve will post when it is all available.
Bill
