Country Meets Folk - over 100 rare and unique recordings from the late 1960s. Avail. for five days only. If anyone can id. the date and performers for each that would be great. Thanks.

wonderful - thank you.

The Genome Index of The Radio Times
gives some details of the broadcasts.

http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/radio1/england/1968-02-17

http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/radio1/england/1968-02-17

is a good starting point.

Note that the programmes (at least the ones I've played
from 1968) were broadcast on Radio 1 and Radio 2 simultaneously,
but the only entries in the Radio Times Genome Index are on pages
for Radio 1

A personal, deliberately public thank you to CJB. Not only are he & his associates extremely successful at tracking down 'lost' Folk Music, contacts provided by CJB have enabled me to unearth a radio interview given by my late Father-inLaw. The recording was made in 1984 to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the D Day Landings. My Father-in-Law was a D Day Veteran. The Imperial War Museum provided the recording but only after I applied for permission (which was readily granted) from the BBC. Thanks a million, Chris!

Hmmm... my parents used to have an album by Four and a Penny - would love to hear it again one day. Some great names on this page, big fan of Gordon Giltrap still and grew up listening to Foogy Dew-0 as well as many others. Amazing to see this online.

Talk about a walk down memory lane! There are a few names to conjure with there but I can't help noticing that the same names crop up again and again and again........and that some of these names were almost unknown outside London and the south-east.

We have tracked down some early Song Hunter and Ballad Hunter episodes, and also some long forgotten docu-dramas by Charles Chilton. Keep tuned for Cornucopia 4.

BTW 'Four and a Penny' is here - quite cheap ...

Can anyone trade me recordings of some of the my kind of folk shows that appeared earlier this year?

I missed the downloads and listened to these shows a long time ago.
