I would love to go to this but the price of accommodation and travel is a bit prohibitive as far as I can see. Advice will be gratefully taken.

We got a twin bunk in a private room in the youth hostel last year.
But I booked in April.

Easier to do over the phone than the booking form.
2016 was ~€160 for 3nights
Free parking. & breakfast I think.
10 minutes walk to Teachers Club.

Dangerous? Try London!

Excuse the poor taste but, given a reasonable common sense approach to personal security, Dublin is not notably dangerous. With some tips from 'catters like Liberty Boy, it shouldn't be too expensive, either!

I'm really looking forward to this year's Frank Harte Festival, especially since I missed going last year. Dublin certainly can be expensive, but there are many cities where you could pay a great deal more in return for a lot less. As for the rather ignorant comment about Dublin being dangerous I personally feel a lot safer there than in many other places. This is a great weekend of song and friendship, including a fantastic walking tour which is always memorable.

Dublin can be expensive agreed, but dangerous! Who told you that? No more dangerous than any other big city. With a little common sense used it's a most enjoyable friendly city!
