I like wearing the slide on my little finger because it allows me to play with my pinky in public without being arrested.

We are British and should employ two bottlenecks on both the index and middle fingers..
Less of this American import single middle fingeredness
and more respect for our historic two fingered heritage... ✌🏽

.. and please, let's not confuse it with that long haired hippy peace sign nonsense either...

I use my pinky, mainly because when I bought my first slide that was the only finger it fit on. So it's what I got comfortable with.

(Sorry for the blank message - finger trouble. I'd blame the interface, but it's more likely user error.)

I remember seeing Maartin Allcock play a beautiful slide solo on "Meet On The Ledge" using the pint glass he'd just emptied...

Wide range of variation...

See (e.g.) this discussion

Pinky probably leaves more fingers available for other work, but seems like it might be harder to control...

I haven't really tried slide, yet...

Just noticed a Farcebook post for Rory Macleod (performing in the Old Road Tavern, Chippenham UK tonight)

It shows him with the slide on a middle finger not the pinkie, and he frets with the little finger.

I just wondered, most people put it on their pinkie (I assume) because it is not as strong for fretting. Or is the blues world divided on where to put it?
