Subject: Tech: Why can't my tablet get recent email? From: Cool Beans Date: 08 Jul 17 - 12:46 PM I have an LG tablet and a Verizon network (US). When it was new I could get up-to-date email. Now I can't get anything more recent than a few days old. I get current Facebook postings and messages just fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, CB |

Subject: RE: Tech: Why can't my tablet get recent email? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Jul 17 - 01:43 PM Sometimes you need to turn off and back on the mobile devices to get them to update, and I think in my phone I have it set to only hold a certain volume of mail, so if I get attachments, they gum up the works and won't let more download. It's set to show only two weeks worth and hold a certain volume - if it isn't time for the big ones to drop off of the list, nothing new can be added. You might have to sort and purge on the mobile device. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Why can't my tablet get recent email? From: DaveRo Date: 08 Jul 17 - 02:30 PM Do you actively do anything to ensure your email app gets the latest mail, or do you just wait for it to arrive? If you just wait, look for a 'get new mail' option among the menus. My Android email app (K-9) used to get mail by itself but after an update to Android 7 it now goes to sleep and I sometimes have to select 'get new mail' manually. Facebook messages use a separate method to email. |

Sincerely, Gargoyles They were a disaster in Connecticut, but then purchased Verizon accounts in AS, CA, OR, WA. These are coastal states limited by 180 degree markets. Verizon has reclaimed the American heart-land which has a 360 degree market place. |
