Subject: Glaisdale Train - Whitby Folk Week
From: Raggytash
Date: 17 Jul 17 - 05:08 AM

The Glaisdale train will once again be running on the Sunday of Whitby Folk Week for our annual jaunt out to be Arncliffe Arms.

The train leaves Whitby at 13.01 arriving in Glaisdale at 13.26

The return train leaves Glaisdale at 17.28 arriving back in Whitby at 17.56.

As usual a raffle and collection will be made for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat during an afternoon of fun and frolics. That's frolics with an F not a B!

Hope to see some of you there.

Might give it a try this year.

Can I use my senior railcard?

Thanks for the diary slot, (when I work out that Sunday date) I've enjoyed the sings in Glaisdale.

Alas I don't have a senior person alecard.

It's Sunday the 20th !!

It really is a very good session away from the hubbub of Regatta and the weekend visitors to Whitby. A good pub, good beer, good food, great music and song .. what more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon

Could ask for it on a different day of the week? Or the ability to be in 2 places at once?We don't get there until Monday, having been at another festival in the Scottish Borders over the weekend. Ok, our choice, so we must live with it, but sounds fun, and will bear in mind for next year!

If you've not been to this do I would recommend it. I think its the random mix of those who decide to give it a go that makes it work.
I'll not be in Whitby; the Regatta is on, so I've sussed trains on Traveline to come DOWN the Esk Valley line. Fingers crossed.

It's a great afternoon out and a bit of good fun but sadly Mo and I will not make it this year the old bones are creaking and the hike up from the station is getting to be a bit too much

We had a great day yesterday out at the Arncliffe Arms at Glaisdale, many thanks to our hosts Neil & Alice.

I am pleased to tell you that shortly I will pay the £139 we raised into the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat bank account.

A huge thank you to everyone who came !!
