G/F's 11 YO son has a week camping with his scout group between the above dates, and her daughter will be back to her university accommodation in the north of England so we have a week to try to pretend that we are young and fancy-free, possibly involving caravan and folk music. So, what's on that week reasonably close to sarf Lunnon?

Considering you are a regular contributer to mudflap I would have thought that Sidmouth would have been an obvious choice.

Or can you not afford it?

For the Western end of South have a look at map.mister.red the dots represent entries of all sorts, dance, festival, session, FC. And at the periphery there are pop-up lists eg Solent Waves, SCoFF etc that take you to listings in their area.

Lewes has a couple of good happenings, not sure about summer breaks though.
