2017 Obit: Mudcat member - Louie Roy - April 2017

Anyone in touch with long time mudcatter Louie Roy or know how to reach him or some one in his family? He hasn't posted since 9/2016, when he posted about his 70th wedding anniversary. One of the mods was kind enough to try to contact him through the e-mail addy on file with Mudcat. It bounced back.

I was in Roseburg a couple weeks ago and thought of looking Louie up, but I had family with me and it didn't work out to try to track him down. I hope to get up there again by myself fairly soon, and then I'll make another try.

Well, I decided I'd better call, and I had a delightful conversation with his wife. Louie died in April, 2017, at the age of 92. He played guitar and sang almost to the day he died. He and his wife were married for 70-1/2 years. She's going to take his ashes back to an area west of Missoula, Montana. That was a place he loved, and he has two children in Montana.

May he rest in peace.

Oh Joe - that's sad to hear. Louie Roy used to post each year on his wedding anniversary to let us know how many years it had been. He sounded like someone who would have been great to meet in person.

Louie was wonderful, he use to send me letters that I enjoyed reading.. He was a first class guy. I will miss him.. Another great catter gone.
