I shall be staying in west Dorset area 7/8/9 August 2017. I would love to go to a folk coub / song session. Are there any around in the area please?

From the far west of Dorset you are only 15 miles from Sidmouth which has the Folk Week on during those dates and has a flourishing fringe of song sessions as well as major concerts.

There are various clubs and sessions that meet later in the month or week, or stop during the festival season, so unfortunately not happening on the days you've specified. There might be some song or music happening spontaneously at the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers. Sidmouth might actually be the best bet, as suggested above.

I've just realised that 8th August is the 2nd Tuesday, so there should be a folk club session at the Woodman Inn in South Street, Bridport!

every wednesday is the sailors return pub in weymouth. a very popular session.
