Subject: RE: Obit: Walter Becker, Steely Dan From: keberoxu Date: 03 Sep 17 - 01:45 PM I recall an interview, long while back, with the duo. They brought in expert musicians for their recording sessions. Some of the session players had the time of their lives, being allowed to come forward and have their moment in the sun. I could name him, but I won't: There was an established jazz musician, impeccable credentials, who agreed to work with them, and he was intimidating. Not aggressive, but cold and glowering. One of the duo was still cringing and trembling over it! |
