Skarpi is coming to Getaway 2018

So I will be at this event Getaway 2018 , since last time , has been 13 years I had some of my best musical and new friends time ever and I hope it will be like that once again .

I hope I get a change to play one or two songs from my home land
along singing with a very special friend , that friend have stole a little part of me at that time ,

I also can´t wait to hear many new song´s and poet´s and story´s
I wish we could have an event like this here at home in Iceland .

so in February my ticket will be in place , from Keflavík to W.DC and from there to N-Carolina and from there to Getaway , I am sure that Mr.Trump will let me in the country and the world will be in one peace at my arrival :) ...the question is will I be alone or will I bring another musician with me we´ll see , that is in progress .

I just have remember how to register to Getaway .

If you like to have some knowledge about Icelandic music , lyrics , poems or Saga´s let me know .

I promise not to play : De var Brennivín í flasken ( she´ll be coming around the mountain ) ...

Skarpi, I hope to be there too! I didn't get a chance to contact you in Ísland as I had very much hoped to do, but I enjoyed the country very, very much (and left more money that I should have to help the country along!). This Jól I'll sacrifice some people to Óðinn so there will be peace in the world for the next Getaway.

Many years ago at Heritage of Scotland summer school/ Jean Redpath's Ballads Class at Stirling University there were two Icelandic guys (whose names I have no idea how to spell tho I think I can still pronounce one of them)- and they sang Icelandic (?) Ballads!
This would have been probably in the 1980s - or possibly the very late 1970s?

I'll believe it when I see you there standing in front of me, but then I always need something good to believe in. It will be wonderful to actually meet up with you again. Your last visit reached legendary status, and we've been eagerly awaiting your often rumored return for quite a few years. See you there!
