As mentioned in the last postings to the New Book: Folk Song in England Thread, we have yet another new very important book out, by Martin Graebe. Subtitled 'Sabine Baring-Gould and the Search for Folk Songs of Devon and Cornwall'. The foreword is by Steve Roud.

Martin has spent many years researching Baring-Gould's life and his folksong collecting and is accepted in our world as the foremost scholar on BG's work. I bought my copy from Martin on the day it came out at the Sheffield TSF meeting but have only just started on it.

It has a heavy pagination again of 420 pages, with plenty of illustrations. Once again the price is very reasonable especially if you buy your copy from Martin.

Vic has read it so he should be able to start the ball rolling.

Are there songs and music in it, or is it purely biographical?

There are 12 songs at the back with music.
