Sorry if this is something
that I have already absent-mindedly posted,
I don't recall --

but there was an inspiring demonstration
of how the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone,
which controlled nicely the overpopulation of deer and such,
turned the whole ecosystem of Yellowstone around
and actually allowed things to come back -- good things --
that the deer had kind of overeaten or trampled or something.

The Trump Dept. of Interior is looking to approve hunting Bears while they hibernate. You will still need a hunting license but they are cheap.

A few days ago, representatives of the Wesboro Baptist Church tried to protest at Carnegie Mellon University. They were met by members of the University's world renowned bagpipe band. Kind of hard for them to make themselves heard. There's a YouTube video of it out there.

Other good news. Dave Letterman on Kimmel last night reminded his fans (like me) just
how funny he was. He told a story, hilarious and wry, of how Conan O Brian didn t appreciate the gift from Dave- a horse. Lmao.

Also, I went to Central Park yesterday to relax jand as I sat in the
lovely alley of trees in the nature conservancy, a hermit thrush plopped
down on the fence post right before me Never saw one before (I had to look
it up)- I got a pic and listened to its haunting bittersweet call. Like a train
song by old Hank. Lovely day too; clear and mild.

The Police relayed their distress call to the nearest people in the area and contacted the steam train Hogwarts Express to stop and pick up the family. Despite a risk of dementers in the area the family was happily rescued.

I knew a lass who like her magic mushrooms. She suffered depression. (not an unknown correleation) And in fact it killed her in the end, she went to the pub for a glass of cheer and wandered home to husband & kid across a main road. And that was that.

The good news? I found a coupon and ended up paying about 2/5 of what I paid last time I had to have the plumber over to roto-rooter the sewer line. The rest of the news isn't good or bad - it can wait a while before I do anything more.

I've caught seven mice in my humane traps in the outhouse this week. Or did I catch the same mouse seven times. I only found out today that mice home and that I should be letting them go at least two miles from the house. It's been 300 yards up to now. Things are going to change. I cannot be beaten by a mouse or two/three/four/five/six/seven...

The water trickling, then streaming out of the yard was on my side of the water service instead of the water company's side. So I "got" to pay for the repairs. No new car this year. Or next. Or the year after that. It was quite an adventure. Learnt a lot about construction practices over the decades including but not limited to materials, work ethic, and building codes. The good news?

It was an adventure. No one died. No one went to jail. No houses were burned, flooded, blown away. So the good news is that I won't need any service pipe again for 40 years, by which time, WFC?, cause I'll likely be somewhere other than in this life. And that pork chop for dinner was the best! So yeah, good news!
