Subject: BS: Rober Mugabe made' 'goodwill ambassador. From: Iains Date: 22 Oct 17 - 06:47 AM [Zimbabwe's] Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador' by World Health Organisation. This surely should be an April Ist headline. His track record in his own country reads like an ongoing disaster. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/10/21/robert-mugabe-made-goodwill-ambassador-world-health-organisation/ Another International body that deserves consignment to the dustbin of history. |

Subject: RE: BS: Rober Mugabe made' 'goodwill ambassador. From: bobad Date: 22 Oct 17 - 09:00 AM It fits perfectly with the UN's lack of credibility which is amply illustrated by the recent election of Saudi Arabia to the Women's Rights Commission and of Qatar, Pakistan, DR Congo, Afghanistan and Angola to it's top Human Rights body. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rober Mugabe made' 'goodwill ambassador. From: Greg F. Date: 22 Oct 17 - 10:10 AM Of course the UN's credibility can't hold a candle to Trump's....... |
Subject: RE: BS: Rober Mugabe made' 'goodwill ambassador. From: akenaton Date: 22 Oct 17 - 11:23 AM Surely not any worse than making Tony Blair a "Peace Envoy"!! :0) |
Subject: RE: BS: Rober Mugabe made' 'goodwill ambassador. From: FreddyHeadey Date: 22 Oct 17 - 12:09 PM "The World Health Organization has revoked the appointment of Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe as a goodwill ambassador following a widespread outcry. "I have listened carefully to all who have expressed their concerns,"?WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said?in a statement. He had previously praised Zimbabwe for its commitment to public health." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-41713919? 22 Oct 2017 Sunday, mid-afternoon |

Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: BobL Date: 23 Oct 17 - 04:45 AM Pity. At first I thought, well, in spite of everything, maybe he managed to get something right. Like Musso's trains. Apparently not. |

Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: Steve Shaw Date: 23 Oct 17 - 05:40 AM It's OK, Iains. We all get your rabid anti-UN and and anti-EU and anti-Corbyn agendas that blind you to the concept of sensible discussion so much that you routinely resort to petty insults. |

Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: Teribus Date: 23 Oct 17 - 07:55 AM Good heavens!!! Guess who's "insulted" again? What by this time? |
Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: Steve Shaw Date: 23 Oct 17 - 10:03 AM Insult away. The fact that I point out your childish behaviour doesn't mean that I'm bothered. I suppose, in a funny way, I should feel complimented by the attention. I would imagine that's how most people see it here. Who knows? |
Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: Iains Date: 23 Oct 17 - 11:24 AM The poor lad is getting a persecution complex. Must be a spillover from all those accusations of insecurity he accuses others of. Maybe his ongoing struggle between recognising fact from fiction is catching up with him. How sad! I suggest it is time to seriously consider the effectiveness of these various spinoff organisations from the UN. There have been a number of ridiculous decisions made in recent times such as the election of Saudi to the UN Human Rights Council. Not only is the country infested with religious thought police, but they are funding terrorism and destroying the Yemen. This behaviour must inspire huge confidence in other areas of the UN;s operations. Such as the continual accusations of child abuse by certain UN peacekeeping forces. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/un-peacekeepers-accused-thousands-cases-abuse-ap-finds Been known about for years but as yet no one has cleaned up the viper's nest |

Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: robomatic Date: 23 Oct 17 - 11:58 AM P.S. Fake news did not start in the New Millenium, and has not ended with this thread. Mussolini did NOT make the trains run on time. If ya don't believe me, go to Snopes. Or, for those of you otherwise inclined, Mussolini DID make the trains run on time, Stalin saved the Soviet Union and didn't starve Ukrainians, and Trump saved the economy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: Steve Shaw Date: 23 Oct 17 - 12:16 PM I was using trains in Italy a lot this summer. They run on time, believe me. Musso casts a long shadow. 😂 |
Subject: RE: BS: Robert Mugabe made 'goodwill ambassador'. From: Iains Date: 23 Oct 17 - 02:07 PM The Italian trains in Eritrea did not run on time. In fact from 1942 until the mid nineties they did not run at all between Asmara and Massawa. The original track construction is some feat of engineering. Last time I saw it they had russian trucks running on the last bit of track around the harbour in Massawa. I believe they run a few tourist trains now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eritrean_Railway |
