Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: leeneia Date: 07 Nov 17 - 09:34 AM Who is Morrigan? Where is Charlton House? Where do I park? Your link doesn't work. I wish I could attend, but there's an ocean in the way. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: GUEST,keberoxu Date: 07 Nov 17 - 12:04 PM There's a convenient way to chase down an answer to the questions. You can click on the membername, "Sarah - the - flute," where it is blue-clicky highlighted. That link will take you to all that member's posts. There you will observe, as I just did, that "Morrigan" figures prominently in her postings, early and recent, where you can read what she has to say about it. And then there's Martin Carthy. He is represented by Alan Bearman who has his own website; the Martin Carthy appearances page on Alan Bearman's website can tell you where, when, and how. All this stuff is out here and ready to be looked up. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 13 Nov 17 - 05:48 AM Link should work Morrigan Our diary page gives details and a link to Charlton House, Charlton Road, London SE7 8RE - plenty of parking outside and in streets. It is very near Greenwich. Can't do much about the ocean though!!! Charlton House |

Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: GUEST,Guest Date: 19 Nov 17 - 09:03 PM Apparently Martin has had a fall and dislocated his shoulder. Hope he will be fit enough for the gig. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: GUEST,keberoxu Date: 20 Nov 17 - 12:37 PM It is curious that when I pull up the Alan Bearman link for a list of Martin Carthy's concert dates, Charlton House on 1 December is conspicuous by its absence. The shoulder injury is reported on the Facebook link for Mansfield Palace Theatre, where Carthy was to have performed, and had to cancel. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 20 Nov 17 - 05:51 PM Oh - we are doing the monthly ceilidh with GFMA who are organising the event on Friday so I'll see what's happening. Thanks for the heads up |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 20 Nov 17 - 06:00 PM Checked and yes its not on his website but is on his tour dates site below Tour dates I'll check out what's happening |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 23 Nov 17 - 06:14 AM Well no news from his agent to GFMA who are organising the event so guessing it will go ahead as planned |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: GUEST,Guest Date: 23 Nov 17 - 08:24 PM No news is not always good news. Still over a week to go so perhaps things may become clearer soon. Although not a fan of Facebook it does appear there is more relevant information there. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 27 Nov 17 - 05:21 AM The agent has been in touch with the GFMA organiser and he is definitely playing at Charlton House this Friday. Thanks for pointing out the absence of gig information on his website - they are also going to correct this! |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 29 Nov 17 - 08:08 AM Looking good for Friday |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: GUEST,keberoxu Date: 30 Nov 17 - 01:47 PM Good memories from when Carthy still toured the US years ago. You guys over there are lucky to see / hear him. And "in bocca al lupo" to Morrigan as well. |

Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 02 Dec 17 - 07:15 AM Excellent evening with Martin Carthy who was on really top form. It was his first gig since the shoulder accident and seemed rested and gave a brilliant performance. It was lovely to chat with him before and after the show. We were really thrilled to be the only support act and also received fantastic feedback from the audience. It was also lovely to see familiar faces including Tony Foxworthy and Barry from Skinners Rats. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Sarah the flute Date: 02 Dec 17 - 08:08 AM Little video of us singing live Sound Sound Your Instruments of Joy last night! Sound Sound Your Instruments of Joy Ok who has an instrument of joy around here???! |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: Will Fly Date: 03 Dec 17 - 04:34 AM Glad it was a great night. Little point in posting a link which only gives access to Facebook members. Those that don't do Facebook - like me - can't see you in action. |
Subject: RE: Martin Carthy Charlton House 1st Dec From: GUEST Date: 03 Dec 17 - 05:39 PM @WillFly As much as I agree with you about people who assume that those without FB accounts are beneath consideration I could access this video without logging in. |
