Subject: Tech: Scandi characters in abcm2ps From: Jack Campin Date: 13 Nov 17 - 08:13 AM How do you get abcm2ps to put Scandiwegian characters in tune titles? Umlauts are fine. But it doesn't recognize the TeX escapes in the ABC spec for circle-A and crossed-O, in either lower or upper case. Nor does it recognize those characters when I simply put them in the source. BarFly gets this more nearly right, but its print quality isn't up to what I need. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Scandi characters in abcm2ps From: DaveRo Date: 13 Nov 17 - 11:16 AM I know next to nothing about ABC but I downloaded an ABC file of 'Det var en lørdag aften' to play with. Using abcm2ps-8.13.16 (2017-10-24) on Linux. It contained '\o' for ø but abcm2ps displayed just o If I replaced it with the character ø - that worked. I found a document here (pdf)which gave '\/o' for 'ø' and that worked too. '\aa' works for å |
Subject: RE: Tech: Scandi characters in abcm2ps From: Jack Campin Date: 13 Nov 17 - 12:14 PM \aa for ? doesn't work in either of the versions I can use (the one installed with BarFly or the one mandolintab.net uses). |
Subject: RE: Tech: Scandi characters in abcm2ps From: DaveRo Date: 13 Nov 17 - 12:26 PM I downloaded it from GitHub and compiled it. Seems unlikely, but is it conceivable that the font it's outputting doesn't have an å. Mine outputs Times-Roman by default (abcm2ps -H) |
