Sad news today of the passing of David Cassidy at the age of 67.

A lot of us may not have admitted to liking his music at the time, but he had a great voice and was part of our youth.

We were in the States for a few months between posts when I was about 10, and my aunt took my cousins and me to see him. My first ever rock concert. This would have been the late 60's, early 70's maybe.

I had never heard of this guy though I had watched the Partridge Family, maybe, once.

I didn't know what rock was.

I didn't know what a concert was.

I was terrified, then bemused. I have never, to this day, understood why she thought I would want to do something like that.

Sigh. I grew up. But that is my memory of David Cassidy as a musician.

We watched the Partridge Family initially because we knew who his mother Shirley Jones was. The rest of them caught on very quickly. I don't remember a single plot of the program, but I remember it was fun.

My mrs had his posters on her bedroom wall.
She is a bit upset, though not shocked as she was aware of his ill health.
But it would be even worse for her if it had been Donny Osmond or David Essex...

She's 56...
