The quiz theme is "Slugs and snails, and puppy-dogs' tails" (that's what little boys are made of)
All answers are, or include boys' names

This should remain 'above the line' for a day or so at least, as there are music questions included.

Usual request, as for my quizzes, please do not post the answers in the thread
Answers will be posted within a separate thread within the coming week.

I will usually respond to help requests, or score claims, by PM between now and posting the answers.

Usual warning that I sometimes take liberties with spelling/punctuation. And if you want to blame someone for this quiz, Senoufou was asking for it (maybe I should rephrase that . . .)

As a quiz, there is also a (UK) quiz related theme in the first 13 answers:

1        What brand name is used for a nasal spray or vapour rub?
2        What was a slang term for 12 old pence?
3        Which children's tv quiz (1957-67) was based around the game noughts and crosses?
4        Who preceded The Honey Monster in advertising Sugar Puffs?
5        What term means to steal from someone, rather than just to steal?
6        Which series of books introduced the character of Violet Elizabeth Bott?
7        In a 1970s Monty Python, what name was shared by the members of the Philosophy Department at the fictitious University of Woolamaloo ?
8        Which play starts "Now is the Winter of our discontent made glorious Summer by this son of York"?
9        What creature lives in a formicary?
10        What abbreviation (suitable for this round) on a piece of music means to gradually reduce the volume?
11        What word (particularly in N England) means an open valley, or is a village in Pembrokeshire? (near Milford Haven)
12        Which footballer appeared in Tiger comic from 1954 to 1993, and appeared on a UK postage stamp in 2012?
13        What saint is usually associated with the depiction of Father Christmas?
14        What abbreviation often shows the highest setting on audio or cooking appliances?
15        Which musical includes the song "Oom pah pah"?
16        What mechanical tool is used to lift heavy weights, usually either by use of hydraulic pressure, or by use of a 'screw' mechanism?
17        The NATO phonetic alphabet includes 5 mens names. Which is represented in Morse by Dash Dot Dash Dot (- . - .)?
18        And which was a Boy's comic (similar to Tiger earlier in the quiz)?
19        Which is remembered as a 'star-crossed lover'?
20        Which 'grouch' lives in a trash can?

Right! This time I'm determined to get 20/20.
My husband is amazed and delighted that there hasn't been a squeak out of me for ages.

Gaaaah! Not to worry; at my age, it's a miracle I remember my own name and where I last left my glasses...
