I believe it's named for Murray River in PEI. Having said that, I'm not sure where I got that impression - but I'll defend it to the death.

Speaking of which - my fiddling niece and I have had a twenty-year argument about whether the title is Murray River (her) or Murray River Bridge (me). I might have gotten that from the track listing on one of Howie MacDonald's tapes.
