Aint Got Time to Stay.

Respectfully Dedicated To Billy Randall
By J.D. Neppert

I'se agwine to trabel on de railroad train-
        Aint got time to stay;
I'se brought de umbrella in case dar's rain-
        Aint got time to stay.
De baggage am checked, de passage am paid-
        Aint got time to stay;
If de bulgine busts, I'll get raised-
        Aint Got Time to Stay.
                Aint got time to stay,
                Aint got time to stay;
                Sing halleluj, shake hands all around-
                Aint got time to stay.
De engineer he am a jolly ole coon-
        Aint got time to stay;
He can send me on a trip to de moon-
        Aint got time to stay.
Den look out darkies, I tell you beware-
        Aint got time to stay;
Dars danger a-floatin' frough de air-
        Aint got time to stay.
Tell Brudder Simpson when I'm gone-
        Aint got time to stay;
To pray for me both night an' morn-
        Aint got time to stay.
Tell Brudder Kearney dat I said so-
        Aint got time to stay;
To change his song, for de Chinese won't go-
        Aint got time to stay.

Brudder Simpson - wiki: Matthew Simpson (1811 - 1884), was an American bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church, elected in 1852 and based mostly in Chicago. During the Reconstruction Era after the Civil War, most evangelical denominations in the North, especially the Methodists, were strong supporters of radical policies that favored the Freedmen (former slaves) and distrusted the Southern whites. Bishop Simpson played a leading role in mobilizing the Northern Methodists for the cause. His biographer calls him the "High Priest of the Radical Republicans."

Brudder Kearney - wiki: Denis Kearney (1847 - 1907) was a California labor leader (Workingman's Party) of the late 19th century who was known for his nativist and racist views about Chinese immigrants. Called "a demagogue of extraordinary power," he frequently gave long and caustic speeches that focused on four general topics: contempt for the press, for capitalists, for politicians, and for Chinese immigrants.
