Hector Gilchrist with Carol Anderson: The Goose Is Out! Thursday 11 January, The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, SE15 3BE.*** 7pm *** Floorspots welcome, £7 on the door.

An established performer on the folk scene, Hector Gilchrist has appeared throughout the UK, Ireland and beyond. Born in Ayrshire, he has been involved in folk music since the 60s.

His repertoire contains songs traditional and contemporary, sung in a lyrical style usually with uncomplicated guitar accompaniment.

He is widely acknowledged as one of the finest interpreters of the songs of Robert Burns and will be performing several of these during the evening. This gig is close enough to Burns Night for us to have an excuse to have a Scottish/Burns theme. It would be great if floorsingers could sing Scottish or Scotland-related songs- but not compulsory, of course. :)

Hector is joined by fiddler and singer Carol Anderson who delighted a large audience back in October with her dazzling Scottish tunes and songs.
