hi Steve

I just followed United because it was all I knew about football. My first recollections were as a a six year old was that on a Saturday after the matches had finished I used to sit on my Mother's knee listening to the football scores on the radio. If united won my Father would come home and my Mother would have his tea ready...if they lost he would have a few ales and his meal would be burnt.

That's probably why I started to play rugby and did so for the next 40 years. But I followed United all this time but hardly ever got to see them. After retiring from rugby I bought myself a Season Ticket and the rest is history !!!

Come on you Reds !!!

Just heard that Spurs have fired "Potch". and guess who is replacing him.

No other than Jose Mourinho !!!

We at Man united were not sorry to see him go.

It is roumoured that Potch will go to Man U ???

WE could do worse....we have demonstrated with Moyse ect ect.

Will be very interesting here.

Could be a different kind of Liverpool at Palace. Mo and Robbo are both injured. Trent will have to keep Zaha at bay, so the usual cut and thrust from the full backs will be missing. Divock may be picked to replace Mo and Milner to replace Robbo. I think that Ox should start in midfield. And Chelsea could upset the applecart...

Yes Liverpool just don't know how to lose. They went very close this time but once again they came through to make it look like the League is a one horse race.!!! They got very close to it but VAR came to the rescue. Well done once again.

I was in one of my old hunting grounds......In Sheffield. ( My Aunt Uncle and cousins lived there and I spent a lot of time there in my Youth . I was there yesterday and went to watch Man United v Sheffield who have had a great return to the Premier League.

Strange game with Sheffield looking like wiping the floor with Us.
For 70 minutes they could/ should have gone six up but due to luck and some superb saves from De Gea they only managed 2 But a huge change... United scored three goals in 7 minutes we went ahead.!!! Then in the 90th minute Sheffield got a break and thanks to VAR they equalised.
....a deserved draw ...no not for Man U but in the circumstances we will take that.

Hi Steve yes they got VAR Right For Liverpool but It took a hell of a time> Must do better.

The Effort with Sheffield was not as clear cut and from a couple of angles he appeared to handle it. A number of pundits agreed that it should not have been a goal. But on the run of play Man U did not deserve to win.

I don't think Ole is through the woods yet. Especially if they can get "Potch" !!!

We will have to wait.....

Bloody Amazon bloody Prime! They've bought up 20 Premier League December games that you can now no longer get on Sky or BT Sport. That includes tomorrow's Merseyside derby and the Man U and Leicester games, among others, six in all, all of which kick off between 7.30 and 8.15. Amazon are telling us how great that is because we can watch the first half of one then the whole of the next. What bollocks! I set myself up with a second Amazon account with a different email (gawd knows whether that's even legal) because they're giving "new" customers (which is what I am not) a 30-day free trial. So I've bagged that before, in 30 days' time, I have to do the Hotel California bit and try to extricate meself lest I start paying £7.99 a month. Grr. It's bad enough that I have to have two subscriptions, costing me about twelve quid, to watch Premier League and Champions League games. I hope that Amazon will decide that the game ain't worth their candle. It would be outrageous if we end up paying three different subscriptions. End of rant!

I did watch Burnley/Man City on Prime tonight. The commentators were idiots but the streaming was very good, I must admit. Crap result.

Hi Steve. I have the same problems. I can buy Prime to get Premier league games on my BT/SKY set-up. BUT I have seen a price quoted of £25 per month !!!!!for all the Premier league Year for the whole year..which means for the rest of the year only..

I won't pay this regardless however it hurts by not being able to watch the Premier League games.

Tonight I will listen on the Radio. I have my sons out trying to find a way of beating this.

I used my gmail account, which I rarely use for anything, to set up a new account with Amazon, which gives me a 30-day free trial of Prime. That's long enough to cover all the matches that Prime have bought this season. I watched a match last night and I watched the Merseyside derby tonight. The first half was incredible with three dream-like goals from Liverpool. Amazing. Went off the boil in the second half but hey ho. Great night and we're on our way!

I Have my son "looking into finding a reasonable way of sorting something out for me to have Premier League games.

Last night I watched the high-lights on Match of the day 2.

Wow what a game we had from Liverpool....v old rivals Everton mouth-watering attacks created some superb goals. Both wingbacks were fantastic. It gut a bit " spicy" but Liverpool just kept playing.

Even with City winning easily against Burnley, I cann't see anyone catching Jergens'men,

I listened to Man United v Toottenham on Radio 5 live, then watched the highlights when they beat Spurs in a good performance by United.

Rashford was superb and only some good saves by the keeper and the crossbar prevented his chance of at least 3 more.

It was lovely for us to see Mourinho taking a beating !!!

We Take on City at weekend .....hope we can do well and do you a favour in the process.

Yes United beat them for you. We played very well especially in the First half. We split City's defence like a kipper....could/should have had 4 or five. Yes it got a bit close at the end. This highlighted one of the many problems Ole has. We have nobody really any good on the bench. He's cleaned out a lot of players so we are hoping that he can fix this.

I don't think you will have any trouble with Vila....we should have beat them last week.

Last night I was lucky enough to be offered a free place in a Box at Old Trafford. My son works for a Dutch ompany and they sent some free tickets for us.
We were playing Dutch side Alkmkaar . Good game to watch But 3 goals in 7 minutes slowed up the visitors.

Great night out; a meal and free booze offered and it was gratefully taken.

What a day! Leicester dropped more points and the lads won the club World Cup! It was a great game to watch and I thought that both teams were magnificent. A bit of play-acting from the boys from Brazil and the worst ref I've ever seen, but it didn't matter. We did it! Go, Bobby! But wasn't Hendo magnificent...

Well what a few days, Mike. Liverpool totally imperious against Leicester, showing them who's really boss in the Premier League. Then Wolves giving Citeh a bloody good kicking. I've loved watching Wolves this season. So positive, so entertaining to watch. Nuno is a genius. Of course, it's the Reds vs Wolves on Sunday. I'll try not to let my tribal instincts kick in, but it should be a super game ...!

Yes a great week for football fans. Liverpool just keep smashing any competitors with exhilarating football. My favorite Kent seems to get better every day.

I was at Old Trafford and in front of a huge crowd saw United mop up after giving Newcastle a goal start. The team clicked and they scored 4 great goals. Trouble is that they can't deliver consistently.

We face Burnley next who always give United a run for their money.

Yes I have seen some games with Wolves who always look great

They make mistakes, leave gaps and have me on the edge of my seat at times, but their passing game and their positivity and energy are a joy to behold. In Klopp we trust...

i'll agree with that - though it is only the english game i have loved watching liverpool playing around with the extra gear (in their engine not the wardrobe) they have found. i also love it that i can watch them in the warm and dry in the pub. however, i wonder if it is time for them to maximise their potential by transferring to play in the scottish league?

yesterday i was up in glasgow again and joined the independence march in the pure pishin' rain. despite the weather we had an impressive turn out and plenty of energy and noise.

however, it did mean that i was wet and cold for the rest of the day - dinner in tennents bar and then to firhill to see partick thistle take on league leaders dundee united. there's a bit of a pattern for jags - a promising start, lose a goal and then lose hope . (1-4 yesterday) for the first time in recent years i left early (missing our only goal of course) seeking warmth and dry and another gloomy trip home to cumbria.

rumour has it we are due to sign 4 players in january. rumour doesn't have it that would be virgil, andy robertson (i'm sure he is longing to get hame) wijnaldum and firmino. but maybe if we could offer klippitty a new challenge he would bring these guys with him?

I'd love to see Liverpool sweeping the board this season. Giving us a legend to remember for the next hundred years. But next season I want to see a really tough challenge. Chelsea have a brilliant youth policy (and the bloke who decorates my house is a massive Chelsea fan, and I get it). And Spurs. A club that belongs to one of the most deprived bits of London. They've made a terrible mistake hiring Maureen-O. Against Liverpool he tried parking two buses in the first half. His players were rooted to the spot. The Bobby goal forced them to play more out in the second half, and all of a sudden (once they'd subbed Ericksen), they were a team transformed. I've always liked watching Spurs. They desperately need to get away from the "feed Harry at all costs" syndrome. The next few months without him will do them a power of good. I'd love to see a big Spurs/Chelsea/Liverpool scrap next season.

I think we'd all agree with that. This season's title race is shaping up to be about as exciting as Schumacher-era F1. Yes, you can admire the skill, but better do it standing up or you could fall asleep.

I was at the match and United chose that day to " have a blinder"
They played the best I have seen of them this year other than the Win against Mun City
and the one against Paris san Germain.

I don't feel that the scoreline with Norwich was fair to them. They played well for the first half and could have scored except for some fine saves by our keeper and some wayward shooting by the strikers.

I know how he feels......all supprters do.

It's such a shame that we're now at the bottom of the Premier League.
My poor husband nonetheless wore all his Norwich City clothes in the supermarket yesterday, and complete strangers kept coming up to him and patting him on the shoulder or grabbing his hand and shaking it.

The sad thing is, he used to be an ardent Man U supporter, but had come to love Norwich City FC too.
Ah well...

What a match, Mike. Seat of pants start to finish. I'm sick about Marcus. We need to see him every week. United had to go all out to get the equaliser and they nearly did it, then suffered at the end because everyone was up front. Man U fought like tigers. They were up against a very canny and experienced team. Even though they've lost Marcus and Young and have other injuries, they were great to watch. Days of hope, Mike!

I agree with you entirely, great to watch and both sides playing some good football......could have gone either way even thought Liverpool commanded most of the play.

I noticed the the game was played in a sensible way and did not spoil the match with unsavioury behavior that has marred these games by both teams in the past.

Yes losing Marcus is a huge blow, but we will have to live with it.

We did keberoxu! Ismaila Sarr, who scored twice, is a Senegalese player, and looks as if he's going to do great things. Wish Norwich City had him on their team! At least we beat Leicester last Friday 1-0.

It wasn't really a miracle. Norwich are as good a team that ever suffered the relegation zone as I can remember.They're great to watch, as are Southampton, Wolves, Sheff U and, dare I say it, Watford... I'd far sooner watch them than the Tottenhams, Arsenals, Cities and Man Us of this world...

We went once again to Granada and The Alahambra - breathtaking !!
And so on .

Back to football Watched United last night and in a tepid game United coasted home.

Now for Norwich !!!

Hey, Mike, I know those white villages (now which one was it with all those amazing chimneys...), and have spent a couple of nights in Trevelez. I remember that shop/cafe with hundreds of hams hanging from the ceiling...lovely smell!...and those flower pots on the wall with knitted cosies! I've travelled round there with the missus and sister a couple of times. I have some great pics of us sitting outside the coffee shop in Valor...Isn't it all wonderful!

We also stayed in Granada and did the Alhambra by moonlight, and again the next day. On another occasion we stayed in the middle of Córdoba, right next to the Mezquita-Catedral, which is stunning. Two lovely cities, though it was a bit hot on both our visits, 40C every day! It was fine as long as you stayed out of the sun as the humidity was very low. Memorable!
